LostGamer is the version described in recent coverage; its reported options include region-specific or full-map play, adjustable rounds and timers, and multiplayer. Dot Esports’ guide, updated December 18, 2025, points players to LostGamer, but live availability has not been independently confirmed.
How the Elden Ring GeoGuessr game works
A round drops you into a view of an Elden Ring location. Inspect the surroundings, choose a spot on the map, and submit your guess; the closer your pin is to the scene’s location, the better your score. Shacknews’ January 19, 2023 report describes camera manipulation for a 360-degree view, map-based guesses, and options to play in areas such as Caelid or Liurnia, as well as across the full map.

Dot Esports’ December 18, 2025 guide describes the LostGamer version as starting with five rounds by default, with the round count and time limit configurable. It also describes an immersive 3D screenshot and a map-pin interface. Those are reported details, not a guarantee that every option is available in the live game today.

What is known about the location pool
Shacknews reported 8,059 unique locations across six maps in its January 19, 2023 article. That is a publication-era count, not a verified current inventory of LostGamer’s locations.
Windows Central quoted a statement from creator u/TheEdenChild describing the capture process: “My friend and I have been on a mission to create a GeoGuessr-like experience for our favourite games. Elden Ring was high on that list, and I’m happy to say after much trial and error, we were able to capture over 8,000 locations in the overworld of Elden Ring,” followed by “We captured hundreds of thousands of raw images, before stitching them together to create the 360 degree panoramas. We also created a semi-decent satellite map of the world, to allow more accurate guesses.” This explains the reported panorama and map approach; it does not establish a current location count.

Is Elden Ring GeoGuessr official?
No. Shacknews identifies the LostGamer experience as a fan-made project that is not officially licensed by FromSoftware. It is separate from a similarly named project on Devpost, whose page lists different creators and an implementation of its own. Do not assume that the Devpost project and LostGamer are the same game.
