Emre is a Damage hero with the Specialist sub-role. Play him by using the Synthetic Burst Rifle’s three-round bursts for mobile firing and its zoomed mode when you can aim more steadily, bouncing Cyber Frag toward a target or surface, and saving Override Protocol for a useful engagement. His exact perk options have changed across patch notes, so check the live in-game descriptions before choosing a build.
What Emre does
Blizzard classifies Emre as a Damage hero and Specialist. His kit pairs a burst rifle and bouncing grenade with Override Protocol, an ultimate that transforms him into a living weapon. His passive, Altered Vitals, affects health recovery: passive health regeneration activates sooner, and Emre immediately restores 30 health when it activates. Blizzard’s Emre hero page provides the current high-level ability descriptions.
Specialists also have a role passive: after an elimination, they gain 50% bonus reload speed for three seconds. Blizzard’s sub-role article lists Emre among the Specialist Damage heroes. That short window can help you keep pressure on after a takedown or reload more quickly. Blizzard’s sub-role explanation describes the effect.
How to use Emre’s abilities
Synthetic Burst Rifle
The rifle fires three-round bursts. Holding secondary fire zooms in, tightens accuracy, and increases falloff range. A practical approach is to use regular bursts when you need to stay mobile or react at closer range, and zoom when you have time and a steadier sightline. Blizzard’s description does not establish a single ideal range or exact damage table, so treat those choices as situational rather than fixed rules.

Cyber Frag
Cyber Frag bounces before detonating shortly afterward. Account for the delay and the surface or route the grenade will encounter; a direct throw at a moving opponent may not behave like a shot that reaches a wall or floor first. The hero page does not give a complete timing or damage table.
Override Protocol
Use Override Protocol as a limited engagement window: activate it when you have a worthwhile target and a position that offers support or cover, rather than assuming the transformation makes you safe. Do not rely on older descriptions that imply flight. Blizzard’s April 2026 live patch notes explicitly state that Override Protocol no longer grants flight. The April 2026 notes are a dated balance record, not a complete current stat sheet.

Altered Vitals
Altered Vitals helps Emre recover by making passive health regeneration start sooner and restoring 30 health when it activates. Use that recovery as a chance to reset when the fight allows it; it is not a substitute for cover or a guarantee of surviving incoming damage.

Why patch dates matter
Emre’s balance history makes it risky to combine older notes into a supposedly current build. Blizzard’s April 2026 live notes recorded changes to his movement and health type, Cyber Frag physics, Siphon Pistol, quick melee, and Override Protocol, including the removal of flight. Its June 2026 notes later recorded a Cyber Adhesion rework into Optimized Targeting, a Cyber Frag charge refund on final blows, and 30% lifesteal for Override Protocol. Those notes describe changes at particular dates; they do not establish that every listed mechanic remains current. The current hero page and the in-game tooltips are the better references for present perk wording. Read Blizzard’s June 2026 live patch notes.

Controls and what is not settled
On PC, Blizzard’s displayed key bindings are defaults, not mandatory controls; you can configure them in game. See the hero page’s control information and adjust the bindings to suit your setup.
The official descriptions support a practical starting point, not a proven optimal rotation. They do not establish exact current damage and cooldown tables, matchup-specific counters, or a universally best perk setup. Treat the tips above as guidance derived from the listed mechanics, and adapt to the fight rather than treating them as high-level strategy guarantees.
