To play The Jackbox Party Pack 12 online with friends, one person hosts the game and shares its screen over a call or stream. Everyone else opens jackbox.tv in a browser, enters the room code shown on the host’s screen, and chooses a name. Only the host needs to own and run the pack; the other players need an internet-connected device and a way to see the game.
Jackbox announced Pack 12 for October 15, 2026. That date is after the October 3, 2026 information available here, so treat it as a scheduled release, not confirmation that the game is already available.
What you need to play remotely
- A host with the game: One person buys, installs, and launches the pack on a supported platform.
- A way to share the host’s screen: Use a video-call screen share or another stream so friends can see prompts and results. Jackbox gives Discord and Zoom as examples, but does not compare their quality or compatibility.
- A device for each player: Each player uses an internet-capable phone, tablet, or computer to visit jackbox.tv and enter the room code. Jackbox games are not mobile apps, and players do not need to install a Jackbox mobile app.
- A voice call, if you want one: Screen sharing lets players see the game; a call is a separate way to talk with one another.
Jackbox does not provide online matchmaking. This is a private group session: the host organizes the group, shares the room code, and shows the game through a call or stream. Jackbox’s remote-play guidance explains the options for playing from different locations.
How to set up Pack 12 online
- Have the host install and launch the pack. Start the chosen game on the host’s supported platform.
- Open a call or screen-sharing session. The host shares the game screen, or streams it another way, so remote players can follow the game.
- Show the room code. Each player opens jackbox.tv in a browser, enters the code displayed on the host’s screen, and chooses a name.
- Start or continue the game. Once the players who want to participate have joined, the host proceeds from the game screen.
Jackbox’s step-by-step instructions cover starting a game, sharing its screen, and joining with the room code. Players in different countries can also join if they can enter the code on an internet-capable device and see the host’s screen, according to Jackbox’s getting-started guidance.

Pack 12 release, platforms, and player counts
Jackbox Games’ October 1, 2026 announcement scheduled The Jackbox Party Pack 12 for October 15, 2026, at an announced price of $29.99. The announcement listed PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Apple TV, iPad, and the Mac App Store. These are the announced release details; check the official Pack 12 announcement for current availability and store information.
The available official information does not establish player limits for Pack 12’s individual games. Jackbox says player limits vary by game and that most games support audience participation; those are general statements, not Pack 12-specific counts. Check the listing or instructions for the particular game you plan to play before inviting a group, and do not assume that every game in the pack has the same player or audience limit.

Choosing how to show the game
Jackbox’s remote-play instructions describe screen sharing and streaming as ways for remote friends to watch the host’s game. The practical choice is whichever option your group can use reliably. The sources do not establish comparative delay, privacy settings, quality, or service compatibility, so no one service can be recommended as universally better.
Players use jackbox.tv as their controller page while watching the shared screen. Depending on the device and setup, they may need to keep the game visible separately from the browser they use to join. Jackbox’s family play guidance also describes one-person ownership and remote screen sharing.
