The game has a native Mac App Store version for Macs with Apple silicon, while iPhone and iPad owners must stream it through Xbox Cloud Gaming, GeForce NOW, or Steam Link. A controller is strongly recommended for every streaming option.
As of August 18, 2026, the Mac version costs $29.99 in the US, requires macOS 14 or later and an Apple M1 chip or newer, and has a listed download size of approximately 33.3GB. The current Apple listing is Mac-only, not a native iPhone or iPad game.

Your practical options are:
- Xbox Cloud Gaming: the game runs on Xbox’s remote servers and is streamed through a browser.
- GeForce NOW: NVIDIA runs a supported PC-store version in the cloud and streams it to your device.
- Steam Link: your own computer runs the Steam version and sends the video and audio to your iPhone or iPad.
None of these is an iPhone or iPad port. The game is rendered somewhere else, so image quality, responsiveness and availability depend on the service and your network.
How to play Palworld on iPhone or iPad with Xbox Cloud Gaming
For most iPhone and iPad owners, Xbox Cloud Gaming is the simplest starting point. Xbox lists Palworld for cloud play, and Microsoft says iPhone, iPad and Mac access is provided through a supported web browser rather than a dedicated native Xbox cloud-gaming app. Xbox also announced Palworld 1.0 for Cloud, Console and PC through Game Pass in July 2026.
What you need
- An iPhone or iPad with a current version of iOS or iPadOS and an up-to-date browser.
- A Microsoft account with the Game Pass entitlement required by the current Xbox cloud listing.
- A stable internet connection.
- A compatible controller for serious play.
Game Pass plans, cloud availability, introductory offers and regional access can change. Check the current Palworld page on Xbox Play before subscribing.
Setup steps
- Pair an Xbox Wireless Controller, DualSense, DualShock 4 or another compatible Bluetooth or wired controller with your Apple device.
- Open Safari or another supported browser and visit Xbox Cloud Gaming.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that has the required Game Pass access.
- Search for Palworld.
- Select Play with Game Pass.
- Wait for the cloud session to launch.
- In Safari, use Share → Add to Home Screen if you want a quicker shortcut next time.
Xbox, partner, 8BitDo, GameSir, Backbone and DualSense controllers are among the controller types identified in Microsoft’s cloud-gaming guidance. Exact button mapping, vibration, headset support and touch overlays may not behave identically to an Xbox console.
What the experience is like
The game is not installed locally. Xbox’s servers render it, and your device receives a live video stream while sending your inputs back. A strong 5GHz Wi-Fi connection is preferable. Cellular play can consume substantial data and may become unpleasant if the signal is unstable.
For less lag, close unnecessary browser tabs, disable a VPN, avoid Low Power Mode during long sessions, stop other downloads and stay close to the router. A queue or temporary service issue can also affect launch time even when your own connection is good.
How to play Palworld on iPhone or iPad with GeForce NOW
GeForce NOW is most useful if you already own Palworld through a supported PC storefront or subscription. NVIDIA supports iPhone and iPad access, but the exact store edition and regional catalog must be checked before you pay for a membership.

NVIDIA identifies support for connected Steam, Epic, GOG, PC Game Pass and Ubisoft Connect libraries where applicable. Its Palworld coverage has identified Steam and Xbox/PC Game Pass availability, but cloud catalogs and entitlements can change. Search the current GeForce NOW library first.
Setup steps
- Sign in to or create a GeForce NOW account.
- Open GeForce NOW in a supported browser on your iPhone or iPad.
- Connect the store account where you own or access the supported version of Palworld.
- Search for Palworld in the current GeForce NOW library.
- Launch the supported store edition.
- Sign in to the store account if prompted.
- Pair a gamepad before starting.
NVIDIA lists iOS/iPadOS 15.4 or later for supported mobile access. Its guidance recommends approximately 15Mbps for HD up to 60 frames per second and 25Mbps for Full HD up to 60fps, with latency below 80ms to an NVIDIA data center. These are service targets, not guarantees of identical performance everywhere.
Keyboard and mouse support on iPhone and iPad is generally limited to navigation and text entry. A gamepad is required or strongly recommended for gameplay. The on-screen controls may be useful for a quick test, but they are a poor choice for extended survival-game sessions involving aiming, building, inventory management and camera control.
How to use Steam Link on iPhone or iPad
Steam Link is different from Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce NOW. It does not provide remote cloud hardware. Your own PC or Mac runs the Steam version of Palworld, while Steam Link streams that session to the receiving device.
Setup steps
- Install Steam Link from the App Store.
- Install and update Steam on the host PC or Mac.
- Sign in to the same Steam account on both devices.
- For initial pairing, connect the host computer and iPhone or iPad to the same network.
- Open Steam Link and select the host computer.
- Enter the pairing code shown by Steam Link into Steam.
- Pair a controller with the iPhone/iPad or host computer.
- Start Palworld from the Steam Link interface.
The host must be powered on, signed in to Steam, awake and capable of running the game. For the best home setup, connect the host computer to the router by Ethernet and use 5GHz Wi-Fi on the iPhone or iPad.
Steam Link can work remotely, but playing outside your home adds complications involving upload bandwidth, firewall rules, network configuration and security. It is not a replacement for a cloud service when the host computer is switched off.
How to play Palworld natively on a Mac
The native Mac version is the best choice if you have an Apple-silicon Mac, enough storage and want to avoid streaming latency.

Mac requirements

Leave more free space than the listed download size for updates, temporary files and normal macOS operation. The price and availability can differ by country and may change.

Check whether your Mac is compatible
- Open Apple menu → About This Mac and confirm that the chip is M1 or newer.
- Open System Settings → General → Software Update and check that macOS 14 or later is installed.
- Check available storage before downloading.
Install the game
- Open the Mac App Store listing for Palworld by Pocketpair.
- Confirm that the listing identifies the Mac version and that your Mac meets the requirements.
- Purchase and install the game.
- Launch it from Applications, Launchpad or the Games app.
- Configure sign-in and multiplayer using the prompts shown by the current build.
- If frame rate or heat becomes a problem, reduce the in-game graphics settings.
The App Store listing confirms Mac multiplayer support, Game Center achievements and Family Sharing. It does not establish that the Mac App Store build is identical to Steam or Xbox, or that those editions share saves, mods, servers or update timing.
Native Mac advantages and disadvantages
Advantages: local rendering, no cloud-streaming latency, no recurring cloud-gaming subscription and less dependence on an internet connection.
Disadvantages: Apple-silicon and macOS requirements, significant storage use, performance differences between base and higher-end Apple-silicon Macs, and possible differences from other editions. Buying the Mac App Store version should not automatically be treated as buying the Steam or Xbox version.
Playing on a Mac through cloud services or Steam Link
Xbox Cloud Gaming
Xbox Cloud Gaming is useful on Intel Macs, Macs with limited storage and Macs whose owners already have the relevant Game Pass access. Open the Xbox cloud-gaming website in a supported browser, sign in, select Palworld and start a session with a controller.

Steam Link
If you own the Steam version and have a capable gaming PC, Steam Link is often the cheapest home option. The PC does the rendering; the Mac is the display and input device. Keep the host computer awake, signed in and connected to a strong network.

What is confirmed
The Mac App Store listing says that the Mac version supports multiplayer. That confirms multiplayer functionality in the listing, but it does not define which other platforms Mac players can join.

What is not confirmed
Do not assume that a Steam save automatically appears in the Mac App Store version, or that an Xbox cloud save automatically appears in the native Mac edition. The reviewed sources do not verify universal cross-progression between these versions.
Likewise, Mac multiplayer should not be advertised as universal cross-play with Steam, Xbox and PlayStation. Pocketpair’s available server documentation discusses Xbox Series and the Windows PC version downloaded from the Microsoft Store and notes that PS5 cross-play is unavailable in that documented context. It does not establish universal cross-play for the Mac App Store build. See the official Palworld server documentation for the platform-specific details.
Mods, dedicated-server behavior, save locations and patch timing may also differ between the Mac App Store, Steam, Xbox and streamed editions. If continuing an existing world is essential, verify compatibility for the exact store version and server type before purchasing or switching platforms. A dedicated server may help maintain a shared world, but it does not prove compatibility across every platform.
Controller guide for Apple devices
A controller is the practical choice for Palworld. Touch controls can be acceptable for testing a cloud service, but movement, camera control, aiming, combat, crafting and inventory actions are much more comfortable with physical controls.

- Mac: a full-size wireless controller is convenient; a wired controller can reduce wireless and battery variables where supported.
- Alternative brands: GameSir and 8BitDo offer multiple Apple-compatible models, but compatibility varies by model.
Before buying, check connector type, Bluetooth or wired support, iOS/iPadOS compatibility, macOS compatibility, mounting dimensions, battery life and whether the controller works with the specific cloud service. No controller is universally best for every Apple device.

Troubleshooting
“I cannot find Palworld in the iPhone or iPad App Store”
That is expected under the current listing. The available Apple version is Mac-only. Use Xbox Cloud Gaming, GeForce NOW or Steam Link instead.
“My Mac says Palworld is incompatible”
Check the chip and operating system. The native version requires an Apple M1 chip or newer and macOS 14 or later. An Intel Mac cannot be made compatible simply by adding RAM or storage; use cloud gaming or remote play instead.
“Palworld is missing from GeForce NOW”
Check that you are searching the correct storefront and that the connected account owns or accesses the supported edition. Availability may differ by region or change over time. Search NVIDIA’s current library before purchasing a plan.

Use a supported gamepad. For iPhone, a phone-mounted controller is convenient; for iPad, use a regular wireless controller and a stand. Wired headphones may help if Bluetooth audio delay is distracting.
“Xbox Cloud Gaming is blurry or laggy”
- Move closer to the Wi-Fi router.
- Switch to 5GHz Wi-Fi.
- Stop downloads and video streaming on the network.
- Disable any VPN.
- Use Ethernet on a Mac where possible.
- Restart the browser session.
- Try another network to determine whether the problem is local congestion.
- Avoid unstable cellular connections or long sessions on a limited data plan.
“Steam Link cannot see my computer”
Confirm that Steam is running, Remote Play is enabled, both devices are on the same network, the host is awake and firewall software is allowing Steam. Update the Steam Link app and Steam if necessary.
“Steam Link shows a black screen”
Restart Steam Link, update the host’s graphics drivers and test hardware encoding enabled or disabled in Steam’s Remote Play settings.
“Steam Link has severe lag”
Connect the host computer to Ethernet, use 5GHz Wi-Fi on the receiving device, lower stream resolution and stop other high-bandwidth traffic.
“My controller is not detected”
Pair it before launching the game, confirm its battery or wired connection, then test it in the relevant Steam, browser or device settings. If using a mounted iPhone controller, verify that its connector is fully seated and supported by the phone.
“My existing save is not appearing”
Do not assume automatic cross-save. Confirm the exact platform, store edition, account and server type. Save compatibility between the Mac App Store, Steam, Xbox and cloud versions has not been universally established by the sources reviewed.

- iPhone: start with Xbox Cloud Gaming and use a controller.
- iPad: use Xbox Cloud Gaming for convenience, or GeForce NOW if you already own a supported PC version.
- Apple-silicon Mac: choose the native Mac App Store version if you want local play and have enough storage.
