Prepare for upcoming Old School RuneScape content by finishing the questline gates Jagex has actually named and training to published skill requirements—not by guessing at levels for quests whose details remain secret. The clearest checklist is for The Chosen Commander; other plans include access through Beneath Cursed Sands, proposed requirements for Crab Quest, and a Fremennik sequel whose associated Agility target is not a quest prerequisite.

Start with the requirements Jagex has published

Jagex’s 3 October 2026 RuneFest overview and Quest Month announcement describe content at different stages: some plans have named prerequisites, while others are proposals without a full checklist. Treat announced requirements as plans until the content is live, then verify the quest journal in game. [Jagex’s official news page]

Content path Published preparation How to interpret it
The Chosen Commander 58 Agility, 54 Thieving, 46 Strength, and completion of Land of the Goblins; Combat level 80 or higher is recommended. The skill levels and quest completion are proposed requirements. Combat 80 is a recommendation, not a stated hard gate. [RuneFest 2026 Summit Overview, 3 October 2026]
Menaphos storyline Complete Beneath Cursed Sands. Jagex proposed this as the route to initial access; proposed Master-level quest Fool’s Gold would open more of the city. [RuneFest 2026 Summit Overview, 3 October 2026]
Crab Quest 40 Sailing and 30 Fishing. These are proposal figures from August 2026, not confirmed live requirements. Check the quest journal if the quest has launched. [Bronzeman Mode & A Ruff Situation, 12 August 2026]
The Graveyard and its related Agility activity Prioritize the Fremennik questline. The activity was described as targeting 65–80 Agility. The 65–80 range describes the activity target, not a published quest requirement. The Graveyard was planned as a Master-level Fremennik sequel. [RuneScape Campfire Lock-in Poll, 29 May–5 June 2026]
November surprise quests No exact levels or prerequisites are published. Jagex proposed at least five small quests, mostly Novice or Intermediate and no higher than Experienced, with details kept secret until release. [Quest Month announcement, 3 October 2026]
Fairytale III – Nexus of Power No numeric skill checklist is published. It is a proposed Master-tier finale for 2027, if it passes the relevant poll. [RuneFest 2026 Summit Overview, 3 October 2026]

Build a targeted account plan

If you want to be ready for The Chosen Commander

  1. Finish Land of the Goblins.
  2. Train Agility to 58, Thieving to 54, and Strength to 46.
  3. Consider Combat level 80 a comfort recommendation from Jagex, not another mandatory prerequisite.

These are the most specific proposed preparation targets in the published plans. The overview does not establish a release date in the requirements summary, so avoid treating the checklist as proof the quest is already available. [RuneFest 2026 Summit Overview, 3 October 2026]

If you want to explore the planned Menaphos content

Complete Beneath Cursed Sands first. Jagex’s proposal distinguishes initial city access from broader content: Fool’s Gold, a proposed Master-level quest, would unlock more of Menaphos. [RuneFest 2026 Summit Overview, 3 October 2026]

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

If Crab Quest is your priority

Use 40 Sailing and 30 Fishing as provisional training targets only if the quest is still upcoming. The August proposal gives those numbers, but its final requirements may differ; rely on the live quest journal once available. [Bronzeman Mode & A Ruff Situation, 12 August 2026]

If you are preparing for The Graveyard

Work through the Fremennik questline in advance. The announced sequel is Master-level, but the associated Agility activity’s 65–80 target range should not be used as a claimed entry requirement for the quest. [RuneScape Campfire Lock-in Poll, 29 May–5 June 2026]

What not to grind for yet

For the surprise quests, Jagex says details will be withheld until release. The announcement describes a planned November schedule of at least five quests, generally at lower difficulty tiers, but offers no honest basis for inventing skill levels or quest prerequisites. Wait for each quest’s release details instead of training toward guessed thresholds. [Quest Month announcement, 3 October 2026]

Fairytale III – Nexus of Power is another case where restraint is useful: its proposed tier and place in the questline are known, but the official overview does not supply numeric requirements. Dungeons of Gielinor is even less specific, with only broad expected requirement categories described. Do not turn either announcement into a detailed training checklist. Use the in-game quest tools to find gaps

The quest list and Activity Advisor are intended to help identify what to do next. Jagex proposed improvements to the Starter sort and Activity Advisor recommended order, plus settings to pin in-progress quests and move completed quests lower in the list. These were proposed interface changes in the 3 October announcement, not guaranteed live features; check the current game interface for availability. [Quest Month announcement, 3 October 2026]

A practical routine is to keep your current questline visible, use the advisor to surface prerequisites, and check the live quest journal immediately before a new release. This avoids overtraining to rumor while still making progress on durable gates such as named prerequisite quests.
