First identify where the repeats are: in OBS’s VLC Video Source playlist, in a YouTube channel playlist, or as viewer-created YouTube Clips. For an OBS tour sequence, open the source properties, remove repeated media entries manually, keep Shuffle Playlist off for a planned order, and turn Loop Playlist off if the sequence should not restart at the end. These are separate controls; disabling YouTube Clips will not remove duplicate playlist entries.
Find which kind of “clip” is repeating
- OBS playlist item: A video or URL appears more than once in the VLC Video Source media list. This is the likely issue when the property tour repeats segments during playback.
- YouTube playlist item: A video is repeated in a playlist managed in YouTube Studio. This list is separate from the media list in OBS.
- YouTube Clip: A viewer-created public excerpt from an eligible video or livestream. YouTube Clips are not entries in either playback playlist.
Remove repeats from the OBS tour sequence
- Select the scene. In OBS, choose the scene that plays the property tour and identify whether it uses a VLC Video Source. OBS requires VLC to be installed for this source to appear. See the OBS Media Sources guide.
- Open the VLC Video Source properties. Inspect the complete media list, looking for repeated filenames, URLs, or copies of the same segment with slightly different filenames.
- Remove the extra entries. Delete each item that should appear only once, then check that the remaining entries are in the intended tour order. OBS documents playlist controls, but does not document automatic duplicate detection.
- Set playback behavior. Leave Shuffle Playlist off for a consistent tour sequence. Turn Loop Playlist off if playback should not begin again after the final item. In OBS documentation, Shuffle Playlist defaults to off and Loop Playlist defaults to on; settings can vary if the installed version changes.
OBS distinguishes the VLC Video Source, which can play a playlist, from the single-file Media Source. The Media Source has its own Loop setting, which the OBS guide lists as off by default. Confirm that you are changing the control for the source actually used by the scene.
Clean up a YouTube channel playlist separately
If the repeated videos are in a playlist on your channel rather than in OBS, manage that playlist in YouTube Studio. YouTube Help describes adding videos from search, a URL, or your library, and reordering an existing playlist by dragging items up or down. Review the list and remove repeated entries yourself; the documented playlist controls do not describe automatic duplicate detection. The interface may change, so use the playlist editor in Studio if its labels differ from the guide: Manage playlists in YouTube Studio.
When the problem is viewer-created YouTube Clips
YouTube Clips are public excerpts viewers can create from eligible videos or livestreams. YouTube says Clips are 5 to 60 seconds long. Channel owners can disable viewer clipping in YouTube Studio’s channel advanced settings, but that setting does not edit an OBS playlist or remove repeated videos from a YouTube playlist. Clips from a livestream appear after the stream ends and uploads as a video; creating a Clip from a livestream requires DVR. See YouTube’s guide to managing Clips.
