For a single-file Media Source, inspect its own Loop setting. YouTube’s player Loop control affects what a viewer watches; it does not control which clips OBS sends to your live broadcast.
Find the source that controls the stream
In OBS, select the scene that is actually being sent to YouTube, then identify the source supplying its video. The relevant settings depend on whether that source is a single-file Media Source or a multi-item VLC Video source. OBS describes VLC Video as a source that can hold a playlist, unlike Media Source, which represents one media file. OBS media sources documentation.
Single video: Media Source
Open the Media Source properties and confirm that its file path points to the intended video. Check Loop: when enabled, that individual file repeats after it finishes. It does not remove or identify duplicates elsewhere in your scene.
Several videos: VLC Video
Open the VLC Video source properties and inspect the playlist row by row. Look for the same filename or URL appearing more than once, including alternate copies with slightly different names. Remove entries that should play only once. OBS documents an editable playlist, but does not document automatic duplicate detection; this cleanup is a manual check.

Set playlist order and end-of-list behavior
Turn off Shuffle Playlist for a predictable sequence
If the clips should play in the order shown in the playlist, leave Shuffle Playlist off. Shuffle changes playback order; it is not a no-repeat setting and does not detect or remove duplicates.
Choose whether the whole list restarts
Loop Playlist controls whether VLC Video starts the playlist again after it reaches the end. It governs repeating the entire list, not whether an item can occur twice within that list. Review entries even if looping is enabled.

Do not confuse OBS looping with YouTube looping
YouTube Help’s Loop instructions apply to playback in the YouTube watch player: a viewer can right-click a video and choose Loop, or use the Loop control for a playlist. That repeats content for the viewer; it does not configure the source feeding an OBS livestream. YouTube Help: loop videos or playlists.
The Google IFrame Player API has a separate loop parameter for an embedded YouTube player. For a single embedded video to loop, the API documentation says to set loop=1 and include the same video ID in the playlist parameter. This applies to a website embed, not an OBS VLC playlist. Troubleshoot repeated clips
- The same clip appears twice in a session: select the live OBS scene, open the VLC Video source, and remove any duplicate playlist rows. OBS does not claim to detect duplicates automatically. OBS media sources documentation.
- Clips play in an unexpected order: turn off Shuffle Playlist and compare playback with the displayed playlist order.
- The list starts over sooner or later than expected: check Loop Playlist on the VLC Video source. If the source is a Media Source, check its separate Loop setting instead.
- VLC Video is missing from the source list: install VLC. OBS notes that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. OBS media sources documentation.
- You changed a setting but are unsure what viewers receive: verify the actual outgoing OBS program output before relying on the stream. The documented controls do not guarantee 24/7 uptime or specify transition behavior.
