YouTube supports text, image, poll, quiz, and video posts, as well as scheduled posts on desktop; it does not prescribe a winning posting frequency or guarantee that posts will increase viewers.
Make each post a useful signpost
A 24/7 stream is always available, so repeated “we’re live” messages quickly become noise. Give each post a distinct purpose and make it worthwhile even to someone who does not click through. For a gaming channel, that might mean describing the game or atmosphere on the stream, showing a current scene, asking what game or theme viewers would like next, or explaining a change to the schedule.
Keep the promise accurate. If the stream is a continuous gameplay loop rather than a live match, say so; if a particular segment is coming up, state when. Put the direct stream link in the post so interested viewers do not have to search for it.
Choose a post format for the job
YouTube posts can use text, video, polls, quizzes, and images. Choose based on what you want the viewer to do, not on an unsupported assumption that one format gets more reach.

These are format ideas, not a ranking by reach. YouTube suggests using posts to complement other channel publishing, including polls, teasers, behind-the-scenes material, and event promotion.
Set a sustainable posting rhythm
YouTube advises creators to publish on a consistent, sustainable schedule and to communicate schedule changes. Its guidance does not specify an optimal daily or weekly frequency for promoting a continuous stream. Start with a cadence you can maintain, then judge it against the work involved and how your own audience responds.

- Define the stream’s promise. Write one clear description of its subject, mood, or use, such as a nonstop strategy-game run or a rotating retro arcade playlist.
- Choose a manageable cadence. Decide how often you can post without repeating the same message. Treat the initial rhythm as an experiment, not a universal best practice.
- Rotate the reason to click. Alternate useful reminders with a relevant image, a poll or quiz, and genuine updates about programming.
- Link to the stream. Include the direct link in posts intended to send viewers to the live destination.
- Review and adjust. Compare the performance of your own posts and whether the schedule is sustainable. YouTube’s recommendations provide ideas, not evidence that a particular frequency or format causes growth.
Schedule posts and promote special events
YouTube’s desktop post workflow lets you choose a publication date, time, and time zone. Scheduling can help maintain a steady rhythm or prepare an announcement when you will not be available to publish manually. YouTube also imposes a daily post limit.
For a launch, tournament, or special segment within an always-on stream, promote the event in advance with a teaser and the stream link. If you schedule the stream as an upcoming live event, it may appear to subscribers as upcoming, where viewers can select “Notify me.” That guidance is most relevant to a distinct event, not a reason to present an ordinary continuous loop as a scheduled event.

Know where posts may appear
Posts may appear on your channel page and in Home and Subscriptions feeds; image posts may also appear in the Shorts feed. Subscribers may receive a notification, but placement and notifications are not guaranteed for every post or subscriber. Posts are unavailable to supervised accounts and channels set as Made for Kids.
Keep the 24/7 promise trustworthy
If the stream’s theme, schedule, or availability changes, use a post to tell viewers. A clear update is more useful than leaving an old post to imply that a segment is still running. YouTube recommends communicating schedule changes; for a continuous stream, that also helps set accurate expectations when programming or availability shifts.
