1. Schedule the stream and get its watch-page link
- Schedule your broadcast in YouTube Studio and confirm the audience-facing watch page is available.
- Copy that page’s URL. It is the main link to use in your social posts: viewers can visit the upcoming stream and, where offered, select “Notify me” to receive a reminder.
- Check that the page shows the correct title, date, start time, and time zone before sharing it. If the schedule changes, update the details and tell people who have already seen the announcement.

2. Write an announcement people can act on
Make the post useful even to someone who does not know your channel. Say what the stream is about, when it starts—including the time zone—and what to do next. For a gaming stream, name the game and the hook, such as a ranked session, a first playthrough, or a community match; avoid promising an outcome you cannot guarantee.
- What: the game, activity, or question the broadcast will cover.
- When: the date, start time, and time zone. If your audience is spread across regions, spell out the zone rather than relying on “tonight.”
- Why attend live: explain what viewers can take part in or see as it happens, without implying that the replay will not be available unless that is true.
- Action: add the scheduled watch-page link and ask people to open it and select “Notify me” if that option appears.
YouTube suggests using a teaser video, sharing through social accounts, embedding the URL where appropriate, and featuring the stream in your channel’s Live section. YouTube documents a trailer feature for scheduled streams in Live Control Room. Its stated eligibility conditions are more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes; the supported trailer length is 15 seconds to 3 minutes. 3. Choose where to post—and make the link easy to reach
Start with the social channels where you already have an audience rather than trying to post everywhere. Match the creative to the channel: a concise text update can work for a text-first feed; a short gameplay moment or teaser can suit a visual feed. In every case, check that viewers have a clear route to the scheduled watch page.

4. Use a small sequence of distinct posts
A practical cadence is an initial announcement, a later reminder, and a live update. YouTube’s documented recommendation is to share the link at least 48 hours ahead; the timing of any additional reminders is a planning suggestion, not a YouTube rule. Give each post a different job instead of pasting the same link and caption repeatedly.
- Announcement: Publish at least 48 hours before the stream, with the topic, date, time zone, and scheduled-page link. Add a teaser if you have a useful clip.
- Reminder: Closer to the start, restate what is happening and when. Make it easy to find the link again, and correct any details if the schedule changed.
- Live update: When you are actually live, post a brief update with the watch link. Do not post it early with wording that implies the broadcast has started.

5. Promote the stream while it is live
