To try special characters in your Roblox display name, open Settings → Account Info → Change Display Name, enter the name, then select Save. Roblox does not publish a complete list of accepted symbols, emoji, or scripts, so a character only works if the live form accepts it for your account. Japanese characters are available only through a beta that Roblox says is not open to everyone.
Change your Roblox display name
- Log in to Roblox.
- Open Settings. On the website, select the gear icon. In the mobile app, tap More (the three-dot menu), then Settings.
- Go to Account Info.
- Select Change Display Name. Some accounts may show the control as Name.
- Enter the name you want and select Save. Refresh the page or app to see the updated display name.
Roblox describes display-name changes as free. Your display name is separate from your username, which remains visible as another identifier.
Which special characters can you use?
Roblox’s current support guidance does not list every permitted symbol, punctuation mark, emoji, or writing system. Its name field applies live validation and filtering, so do not assume that a character will work just because it can be typed or appears in a decorative-font generator.
Roblox Support says Japanese characters can be used in a beta, but that feature is “not available to all users”; the support page also says additional character support is planned. It does not specify all eligibility rules or provide a complete character list. If a character is rejected, try a readable alternative that the official field accepts. For an account-specific problem, contact Roblox Support.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What to do if Roblox rejects the name
- Try the intended text in Account Info. The official field is the practical test for whether the characters work for your account.
- Choose a permitted alternative if validation rejects it. There is no established universal trick for making unsupported characters pass.
- Keep the name within Roblox’s rules. Roblox says platform text, including display names, is filtered and may reset a noncompliant name to your username.
- Do not disguise prohibited words. Roblox Community Standards prohibit using misspellings, special characters, or other methods to evade profanity detection. That rule concerns evasion; it is not an allowlist of ordinary decorative characters.
- Avoid Roblox-related names that violate the Terms. Roblox’s Terms prohibit creators from using “Roblox,” “Blox,” or similar names in usernames, display names, or community names, with similarity determined at Roblox’s discretion.
Know the display-name limits
Roblox Support says you can change your display name once every seven days. Other players can use the same display name, so it is not a unique account identifier; your username remains visible separately.
A 2021 Roblox launch post stated a 3–20 character range, but that older limit is absent from the current support article. Follow the limits shown by the live form rather than relying on that historical range.
