In India, YouTube pays Super Chat earnings through your AdSense for YouTube account—not through a separate Super Chat payout service. To receive the money, qualify for Supers, accept YouTube’s Commerce Product Module, set up or link AdSense for YouTube in YouTube Studio, complete any requested verification, submit tax information, add an available payment method, and meet the threshold shown in your payments account.
Before you can receive Super Chat earnings
Super Chat and Super Stickers are fan-funded features for eligible live chats and Premieres. Being in India alone does not make every channel eligible. You must be at least 18, live in a region where the features are available, accept the Commerce Product Module, and meet YouTube’s channel and feature requirements. India is on YouTube’s availability list, but restrictions or a channel review can still affect access. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility guidance.
Once enabled, Supers revenue is included in YouTube earnings and paid through AdSense for YouTube. It is not a direct transfer from the viewer to your bank account.
Set up your YouTube payout account

Start AdSense for YouTube from YouTube Studio
Follow the AdSense for YouTube setup or linking flow in YouTube Studio. Use the dedicated AdSense for YouTube account for YouTube earnings. Do not create a duplicate account under the same payee name; follow the account prompts if you already have an account. See YouTube’s guide to getting paid.

Check the payee name and address
Enter accurate payee and payment-address details. Google may request identity verification. After identity verification, it may mail an address PIN; enter that PIN in your account to verify the address. Watch the Payments area for requests or holds, since an incomplete verification can delay payment. Google’s steps are described in its verification guidance.

Submit tax information
All monetising creators must provide tax information to Google. Google may withhold tax on earnings from US viewers. You may also have tax obligations where you live; Google’s general guidance does not determine your individual Indian tax treatment. For that, check current Indian tax-authority guidance or consult a qualified tax professional. See YouTube’s tax information guidance.

Add a payment method for your India payment address
YouTube’s payment-method table lists wire transfer as available for India; cheque, EFT and Hyperwallet are marked unavailable. Open the Payments section of AdSense for YouTube and use “Add payment method.” The options shown for your payment address in the account are the practical final check, because available methods depend on that address. The current table is at YouTube’s payment-methods page.
Understand the threshold and monthly payment timing
There are separate milestones for choosing a payment method and receiving a payment. The method-selection threshold is lower than the final payment threshold. The final threshold depends on the account’s reporting currency, and each payments account has its own threshold. The official threshold table consulted does not show an INR row, so there is no single universal rupee threshold to rely on: check the Payments page in your own AdSense for YouTube account. These are Google’s usual monthly-cycle windows, not a guaranteed arrival date. If you miss the threshold or have an unresolved hold or payment-detail issue by the 20th, the balance rolls forward. Estimated earnings may also be adjusted before finalisation for invalid traffic, copyright claims or disputes, some ad campaign types, and taxes on US-viewer earnings. How much of Super Chat revenue does a creator receive?
YouTube Help states: “Creators receive 70% of Supers revenue that is confirmed by Google.” That is not 70% of the viewer’s gross purchase price: YouTube says the calculation is after local sales tax and iOS App Store fees are deducted. The Help page does not display a publication date. No India-specific average Super Chat payout is established by the official sources cited here. See YouTube’s Supers revenue-share explanation.
Common payout delays and what to check
- No payment method is available: Confirm the payment address and inspect “Add payment method” in AdSense for YouTube. For India, YouTube’s published table lists wire transfer, not cheque, EFT or Hyperwallet.
- The balance has not reached the payment threshold: Check the threshold shown in the account’s reporting currency. Do not assume a fixed INR amount based on another creator’s account.
- The payment did not issue this month: Review whether the threshold was met by the 20th and whether payment details, verification or other holds remain unresolved.
- The amount changed from the estimate: Estimated earnings are not final. Adjustments can include invalid traffic, copyright matters, certain ad campaign types and tax withholding on US-viewer earnings.
- The bank transfer has been issued but has not arrived: Allow up to seven working days after issue, while accounting for weekends, public holidays and bank processing. If it remains missing beyond that period, check the transaction status and payment details in the account and contact the relevant Google payments support channel.
