To recover an old Clash of Clans village, first sign in with the Supercell ID linked to it if you can access that email. If you cannot sign in—or the village was never connected to Supercell ID—contact Supercell Support through the game. Support checks whether you own the village; recovery is not automatic, and Supercell does not promise that every account can be restored or publish a universal recovery timeline.
Choose the right recovery route

These are the recovery routes described by Supercell Support’s “I’ve Lost Access to My Account” guidance. Use the current options shown in the game if labels or screens have changed.

Try Supercell ID first if you still have the email
- Search the email accounts you may have used for messages from Supercell. This can help identify the address associated with the village.
- Open Clash of Clans and open the in-game Supercell ID menu.
- Sign in with the linked email and follow the prompts. Supercell says signing in can restore access to progress saved with that ID.
If you cannot access the linked email or sign-in does not restore the village, move to in-game Support rather than using an unofficial recovery service.
Contact Supercell Support in the game
- Open Clash of Clans and go to Settings > Help and Support.
- Use the contact option in the support interface to start a conversation about the missing village.
- Answer the ownership-verification questions as accurately as you can, using the village details you have gathered.
Supercell says a village that was not connected to Supercell ID may still be recoverable through Support. The process may create a Supercell ID; if Support asks for a replacement email, use one that is not already connected to a Supercell ID. Follow the instructions in the official support flow, since the outcome depends on verification.

Gather details that can help identify your village
Before contacting Support, collect whatever information you can. Supercell lists these details as useful when Account Protection is not enabled:
- The village’s Player Tag.
- The account name and account level, such as Town Hall or XP level.
- The clan name, if the village was in a clan.
- Purchase transaction IDs, if you made purchases and can retrieve the receipts.
Share accurate information rather than guessing. These details help Support identify the village, but no single item guarantees recovery. See Supercell’s account recovery guidance for the information it may request.

If you do not know the Player Tag
Ask an in-game friend to view the old profile, check whether the tag appears in the friends list on an account you can still access, or look among members of a shared clan. Supercell explains ways to find a tag in its Player Tag guide. A tag helps Support locate the village, but it does not by itself prove that you own it.

If Account Protection was active on the village, Support may use SMS verification or a Recovery Code during recovery. Keep Recovery Codes somewhere secure. Generating new Recovery Codes makes the previous codes unusable; follow the official Account Protection instructions for managing them.

Do not give a verification code or Recovery Code to someone who contacts you unexpectedly. Supercell says it does not unexpectedly contact players to ask for Supercell ID login codes. Share a code only in the appropriate recovery flow with Support after you initiated the conversation through the game. More security guidance is in Supercell’s account safety article.

Protect yourself from fake recovery offers
- Start recovery from Clash of Clans using Settings > Help and Support.
- Do not share login codes with unsolicited contacts or people claiming to be Support outside the recovery flow you started.
- Avoid third-party recovery services and offers of free items that ask for your account details. Supercell’s Parent’s Guide warns about third-party offers.
- Do not try to recover another player’s account through Support; Supercell says this is considered phishing.
