To remove vocals from a song with AI, upload the audio to a stem separator, choose a vocal and instrumental split, then download the instrumental stem. For a stream or gaming video, listen through the whole result before adding it: the separation can leave vocal fragments or alter instruments, and a clean instrumental file does not grant permission to use the song.

Prepare The Track And Your Edit
Start with the best-quality audio file you can use. Avoid a recording that already has stream alerts, game audio, voice chat, or other music mixed into it: a separator receives the combined audio, so those sounds can affect what ends up in each stem. Keep the original file unchanged so you can compare it with the instrumental output.

Remove Vocals Step By Step
- Pick a separator. Choose one from the table based on where you want to work and whether you need a downloadable result. Check the vendor’s site for supported file types and current limits.
- Upload the song. Select the audio file you’re authorized to process. Check the file’s length and size against the chosen service’s stated limits.
- Request stem separation. Choose the vocal and instrumental separation if the tool offers that choice. With a multi-stem workflow, select the vocal stem and the remaining instrumental parts.
- Preview the output. Listen to the instrumental from the beginning, through transitions and quieter sections, to the end. Check for audible vocal remnants, missing musical parts, or separation artifacts.
- Download and label the instrumental. Keep the original and separated output as separate files. Use an export format the tool provides and your editing setup accepts; verify the available formats with the vendor if that matters to your workflow.
- Place it in your video or stream edit. Import the instrumental into your editor or audio workflow, then listen alongside gameplay, commentary, and alerts. Adjust its level in the project and check the final mix on the devices your audience is likely to use.

Check The Result Before Publishing
- Listen for lead or backing vocals that remain in the instrumental, especially in choruses and dense sections.
- Check whether instruments or transient sounds were removed or damaged along with the vocals.
- Compare the output with the original at the same playback level; a quieter file can seem cleaner simply because it is quieter.
- For a gaming video or stream, review the final mix with commentary, game sound, and alerts playing together.

Removing vocals does not establish permission to use the song, its recording, or any voice in the result. Get consent where needed, and check the rights holder’s terms, the separator’s terms, and the terms of each platform where you plan to publish or stream.
