Before searching or ordering, record the full game title, publisher, edition or printing if known, language, and approximate publication era. Check the rulebook’s contents list or the publisher’s component inventory to confirm what is missing. Components can differ between editions even when their names are the same, so a title alone may not be enough to find a match.
- Note the component’s name, quantity, color, material, and dimensions if available.
- For cards, boards, or pieces with printed information, identify the exact version or artwork.
- Decide whether the part is essential to playing or mainly important for restoring the original appearance.

Asmodee USA’s FAQ says many retail purchases should be handled through the retailer, while CATAN Studio directs eligible new-game customers in the United States and Canada to the retailer first. The relevant route depends on the game, purchase channel, and location; these examples are not universal rules. Check the game publisher’s official parts shop or contact its customer service to ask whether the specific component is available. CATAN’s service page says CatanShop sells replacement parts, including wooden playing-piece sets and card decks.
