How to reroll a trait safely
- Select the weapon you intend to keep. An October 4, 2026 fan guide says a reroll applies to the equipped weapon, not the weapon in the second slot. Because this is not confirmed by a developer source, verify the selected weapon and its trait panel in your client before spending. Read the guide’s trait-reroll notes.
- Review the current reroll controls. Open the trait interface and check the displayed cost, available reroll options, and any confirmation prompt. Do not assume an auto-reroll toggle or a particular pity setting is available: guides updated October 4 and 5 give conflicting accounts.
- Confirm before you commit. If the game presents a confirmation dialog, make sure it names the weapon you want to change. Rerolls may be limited, and the October 4 guide recommends saving them for a weapon you expect to use long-term.
- Check the in-game patch log if the interface differs. The disputed mechanics may have changed with a recent update; rely on what your current client actually displays rather than an older guide.
Where to get rerolls
Available sources are also disputed. The October 4 fan guide names codes and quest rewards, says rerolls cannot be farmed in its described build, and reports that code PATCH2 awarded three rerolls. A separate guide updated October 5 says Story runs can drop trait crystals. These are fan-reported details, not developer-confirmed current rules; check the game’s active code, quest, and reward screens before planning around any source. How to choose a better trait
There is no reliably verified universal best trait in the available sources. Compare the trait descriptions shown in your game with the build and weapon you actually use, rather than choosing from an unverified tier list.
- Damage: prioritize effects that directly support your damage approach, if their descriptions and values are visible in-game.
- Cooldowns or attack speed: consider these when they improve how often your build can act or use abilities.
- Survivability or farming: a defensive or convenience effect may be more useful than a damage modifier for the content you are playing.
- Caps: account for any limits the live interface confirms. The October 5 guide reports caps of 60% critical chance, 275% critical damage, and 40% cooldown reduction, but those figures are unverified fan claims and should not guide a build unless the game itself confirms them.
What current guides disagree about
The disagreement matters because it changes both the reroll process and how players can replenish resources. The October 4 guide says there is no auto-reroll, rerolls cannot be farmed, and codes and quests are the remaining sources. The October 5 guide says an October 4 update added auto-reroll with a trait filter, selectable Legendary or Mythic trait pity, and Story trait-crystal drops. The newer guide also names Razor Focus, Overkill, Sniper, and Deadeye, and reports Story trait-crystal chances of 5% on Easy, 10% on Normal, 20% on Hard, and 40% on Nightmare. Those values and trait details come from one fan source; they are not independently verified developer figures. Do not assume they apply to your current build without confirmation in-game.

Practical checks before spending
- Is the intended weapon selected and visibly equipped?
- Does the trait panel show the reroll cost and the effect of the action?
- Does the current client show auto-reroll, pity, or a crystal reward? If not, do not rely on a guide that says it should.
- Are you comfortable spending a limited reroll on a weapon you may replace?
- Does the trait help your current build without exceeding a cap confirmed by the game?
