The exact price can vary by game mode or version, so check the cost shown by the trainer before confirming. In Season of Discovery, changing Rune Engravings is a separate process: Blizzard says runes can be applied and removed at will.
Reset talent points at your class trainer
- Go to a trainer for your class.
- Look for the option to reset or unlearn your talents.
- Review the displayed price and confirm if you want to proceed.
- Open your talent interface and spend your points on the new build.
A historical community reply on the World of Warcraft Forums, quoting a third-party guide in 2020, describes a schedule of 1 gold for the first reset, increases of 5 gold for each later reset up to 50 gold, and a monthly reduction of 5 gold until the cost reaches 15 gold. This is historical community guidance, not a current official price guarantee; the sources do not establish that the schedule applies to every Classic mode or current patch. Use the trainer’s displayed price as the practical check.
Check which WoW Classic mode you are playing
“WoW Classic” covers separate mode families. Blizzard Support distinguishes Classic Era variants from Classic Progression; instructions and costs should not be assumed to carry across modes. Blizzard Support’s WoW Classic overview can help identify the mode family, but it does not confirm a current talent-reset price.
In Season of Discovery, runes are not talents
If you mean Rune Engraving rather than talent points, you do not need to reset your talents to change runes. Blizzard’s Season of Discovery launch announcement says Rune Engraving allows players to apply and remove abilities at will. Blizzard also describes Rune Engraving as a set of skills outside the talent system that can be swapped at any time in its Classic panel recap.

What if you mean another kind of skill?
“Skills” can also mean trained class abilities, weapon skill levels, or professions. These are different systems from talents and Season of Discovery runes. The available documentation does not establish a shared reset process for those categories, so the right steps depend on your game mode and exactly what you want to change.
