Are Eddie and Volt separate romance routes?
No. Eddie and Volt share one Date-A-Dex entry and one route, rather than having separate paths. The official Date Everything! website describes the game as a sandbox dating simulator with 100 fully voice-acted datable characters.

Where to find Eddie and Volt
Go to the second-floor coat or utility closet near the gym and the locked attic door. Use the Dateviators to scan the electrical panel; Volt greets you, and Eddie is introduced through their shared route, according to the Volt route guide.
How to get the Love or Friends ending
- Listen to their story. Let Eddie and Volt explain their situation without pushing them to separate or suggesting that one is holding the other back.
- Accept Eddie’s maintenance request. Agree to help with the repairs.
- Return for the next repair night. When the work resumes, insist on staying to finish it. Route guides identify this repair sequence as the shared setup for Love and Friends.
- Respond to the blackout. Volt asks you to repair the wire and reset the system, while Eddie objects. Convince Eddie to let you reset it under his guidance; the official wiki route entry says the lights return after the reset.
- Choose the relationship you want. Select Love for the romance ending or Friends for the friendship ending. The walkthroughs describe these as different final choices on the same good route, not separate repair paths.
How to avoid the Hate ending
Do not frame Eddie and Volt as better off apart. Route sources specifically flag suggesting Eddie does not need Volt, or that one is dragging the other down, as the Hate fork. The wiki reports that Eddie is gone and Volt is left alone in the darkness in that outcome. If you want Love or Friends, support them through the repairs and blackout instead of taking sides against their connection.

What is happening between Eddie and Volt?
The route’s backstory explains why the repair choice matters: the wiki says Eddie is the power and is failing. Eddie split himself to create Volt as a temporary fix, but that solution is failing too, and maintaining it is exhausting Eddie. During the blackout, resetting the system is presented as a way to save Eddie, even though he initially objects.

Two walkthrough guides report that you must first complete either the Love or Friends ending. They give this stat recipe: Smarts 65, Poise 0, Empathy 85, Charm 15, Sass 85. Treat it as a guide-reported recipe: it is corroborated by two walkthrough pages, but not independently confirmed by an official recipe database in the available sources.
