Spoilers for Taash’s romance and companion quests. To romance Taash, flirt when heart-marked dialogue appears, pursue their companion content, and take the post-Weisshaupt conversation seriously. The exclusive commitment choice comes later, in A Little Dragon Hatches: choose “She cares for you. So do I.” Earlier flirtation—and the post-Weisshaupt “Taamlok” response—does not by itself make the relationship exclusive.
Taash’s romance, step by step
- Recruit Taash and build the relationship. Check the Lighthouse regularly for new companion conversations, complete Taash’s available quests, and choose heart-marked flirt options when they appear. EA also lists companion quests, siding with companions, and gifts as ways to build a bond. EA’s romance guide
- Take the early opportunity in Fire on the Sands. PC Gamer identifies this as an early chance to spend time with Taash and flirt. PC Gamer’s Taash romance guide
- After Weisshaupt, return to the Lighthouse. Look for a new conversation with Taash. The scene may require further quest progress before it appears. In the reported dialogue sequence, choose “You deserve kindness, Taash”, then express serious interest with “Taamlok.” This advances the relationship, but is not the exclusive commitment. PC Gamer and Gamer Guides
- Continue Taash’s companion content and make the commitment choice. When A Little Dragon Hatches becomes available, choose “She cares for you. So do I.” Guides identify this as the response that commits Rook to Taash. PC Gamer and GameSpot
Which choice makes the romance exclusive?
The route has three distinct stages: early flirtation, a more serious expression of interest after Weisshaupt, and commitment during A Little Dragon Hatches. The “Taamlok” response belongs to the second stage; the later response, “She cares for you. So do I,” is the reported commitment point.
EA says you can flirt with multiple companions before committing. Accepting a companion’s commitment changes the relationship to a double-heart status and prevents you from romancing other companions. Taash’s commitment is reported to happen relatively early compared with some other companion romances. EA Help and GameSpot
Do Taash’s quests promptly
GameSpot reports that, in the author’s playthrough, A Little Dragon Hatches disappeared and its heart icon was gone after the author delayed it and completed the main quest Fire and Ice. That is a reported playthrough result, not a confirmed rule for every game version. To reduce the risk of missing the commitment scene, complete Taash’s available personal content and pursue A Little Dragon Hatches when it appears rather than putting it off through major story progress. Gifts and approval opportunities
Give Taash the Lords of Fortune gift
EA recommends giving Taash the Lords of Fortune trinket gift, which it calls a “Set of Trinkets.” PC Gamer names the gift “Priceless Ancient Trinkets.” These are descriptions of an in-game gift, not a real-world purchase. EA Help; PC Gamer
Bring Taash along and support them
GameSpot lists taking Taash on group quests, completing their personal quests, clearing encounters on the Rivain Coast, and winning the first ten Hall of Valor matches as approval opportunities. It also recommends matching Taash’s no-nonsense combat responses when appropriate and being supportive when they discuss their mother and identity. These actions support the relationship; the reported exclusive commitment still comes from the choice in A Little Dragon Hatches. GameSpot
