To run Tamil and Telugu playlists on separate YouTube livestreams, create two distinct live events, connect a separate audio source to each event in an encoder or service that supports independent routing, and test both feeds before scheduling them publicly. YouTube documents creating events and connecting encoders, but its general multi-stream guide does not verify a particular setup for independently looping two playlists. Confirm that capability in the tool you choose.
What you need to set up
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube says the channel must be verified and have had no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time activation can take at least 24 hours. YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.
- Two distinct scheduled YouTube live events: one for Tamil and one for Telugu.
- Separate audio playlists containing tracks cleared for livestream use in the relevant territories.
- An encoder or cloud service that can independently route each playlist to its intended event. YouTube’s general multi-stream instructions do not establish that any specific encoder can loop and route two different playlists this way.
Create and label the two YouTube events
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create and schedule the Tamil event, then create a separate Telugu event. YouTube supports scheduling live events and editing their details. Schedule a live stream.
- Give each event a clear title, description, language, and thumbnail. Keep the watch-page links separate so viewers can identify the right language stream.
- For each event, open its stream settings and record the stream URL and stream key. Treat each key as a password: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to that event. YouTube explains encoder connection and stream-key use in its encoder setup guide.
Prepare the playlists and verify routing
Keep the sources distinct
Prepare one Tamil playlist and one Telugu playlist, and confirm that the encoder or service you select can play each independently and send it to the corresponding event. YouTube describes repeating a setup for multiple live streams, but does not document application-specific playlist routing. Do not assume that one encoder instance or computer can handle both outputs without checking that tool’s current capabilities.
Clear music rights before testing publicly
YouTube’s livestream terms make the provider responsible for obtaining the necessary rights, including music rights. Its copyright guidance says live streams are scanned for third-party content and may be interrupted or terminated. A license may not prevent a match-related interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Review YouTube’s livestream terms and copyright issues with live streams, and ask the rights owner about allowlisting if a licensed track is matched.
YouTube suggests using its Audio Library, original music, or third-party tracks whose licenses cover the intended use. Do not assume Creator Music tracks can be used in a livestream: applicable Creator Music usage details say those videos cannot be live streams. Test both events before going public
- Connect the Tamil source to the Tamil event and the Telugu source to the Telugu event. Verify each destination in the encoder or service before starting either feed.
- Use private or unlisted testing where available. In Live Control Room, check the preview and confirm the correct language is audible on each event, each playlist advances as intended, and stream status and quality appear healthy.
- Monitor both feeds during the test. YouTube recommends previewing and monitoring encoder streams; checking playlist identity and advancement is an additional practical test because YouTube does not validate those source-specific details for you. YouTube’s live control room guidance.
- Once the routing and audio are right, share each scheduled watch page separately. YouTube recommends sharing a stream link at least 48 hours before going live so viewers have time to find it and opt into reminders. Promote your live stream.
Choose a setup that can handle two independent feeds
YouTube’s general multi-stream guidance covers local hardware/software encoders and cloud service encoders. A local encoder places the processing work on your device; a cloud service can reduce the work on your computer. That guidance concerns sending streams to multiple channels and does not prove that a named service can ingest two different playlists and route them to two separate YouTube events. Before choosing, verify independent source routing, playlist looping and recovery, monitoring and alerts, local CPU and upload requirements, and the service’s current cost. Archived streams may receive Content ID claims after the live broadcast ends, so review the archives and resolve any claims through the appropriate rights process. Troubleshooting
- The wrong language plays on an event: Stop or correct the feed, then verify that the intended playlist source is mapped to that event’s stream key. Repeat the test before resuming publicly.
- The playlist does not advance: Check the encoder or service’s playlist and looping controls. YouTube’s general event setup does not control or confirm source playback behavior.
- One feed will not connect: Recheck the event’s stream URL and key in the encoder, and confirm that the selected tool supports two simultaneous outputs and independent sources.
- A stream is interrupted over music: Review the match or claim, confirm the track license covers livestream use and relevant territories, and contact the rights owner about channel allowlisting where appropriate. A license by itself may not avert a Content ID interruption.
- The stream is not available yet: Confirm live streaming is enabled and the channel meets YouTube’s eligibility guidance. First-time activation can take at least 24 hours.
