You can run a 24/7 Indian lofi stream by sending YouTube a continuous live video feed: an encoder pairs your music with one static image and streams the combined audio and video. You can run the encoder on hardware you keep on, or use a cloud service so your own computer and home connection do not need to stay active. First confirm your channel can livestream, then prepare music and artwork you have permission to broadcast, configure the stream, and test it before launch.
Before you set up the stream
- Check livestream eligibility. YouTube says your channel must be verified and must not have had a livestreaming restriction in the previous 90 days. You must be at least 16 to livestream. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s livestreaming help.
- Clear the rights for both audio and image. Confirm that the music and artwork licenses allow public YouTube livestreaming, continuous playback, and your intended territories and duration. The status of any particular Indian lofi track or image cannot be assumed; credit or attribution by itself does not grant permission.
- Choose where the encoder will run. A local computer requires reliable power and internet while it streams. A hosted encoder can avoid leaving local equipment running, but you should check its restart behavior, monitoring, ongoing cost, and how you will update the playlist before choosing one.
How a one-image livestream works
The encoder sends YouTube a live audiovisual feed. The image remains on screen as the visual, while the encoder plays the audio playlist; viewers see a live broadcast even though the picture does not change. YouTube supports encoder-based streaming, and its API guide distinguishes the incoming audio-video stream from the broadcast viewers watch. Set up the broadcast in YouTube Studio
- Verify the channel and livestream access. Resolve any eligibility or restriction issue before preparing a long-running broadcast.
- Create or schedule the livestream. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room, create or schedule the broadcast, and choose the encoder workflow. YouTube’s interface labels can change; follow the current encoder setup prompts to obtain the stream destination and key.
- Prepare the visual and playlist. Select one image you are allowed to use and arrange the licensed audio in the intended playback order. Keep a copy of the source files and license terms available.
- Configure the encoder destination and stream key. Use YouTube’s supplied server address and stream key, selecting RTMPS where available. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish or share it. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio before resuming.
- Set video and audio parameters. Use a moderate resolution and bitrate your upload connection can reliably sustain. For a static image, high frame rates or 4K are generally unnecessary. Use YouTube’s published baseline settings below, then test with the actual image and music.
- Test before going live. Start the encoder in a test/private workflow if available, inspect YouTube’s stream health indicators, and listen for clean audio. Correct warnings or dropouts before making the broadcast public.
- Start the broadcast and monitor it. Start sending the feed from the encoder and confirm the broadcast is live in the Live Control Room. Keep a plan for checking the stream and responding to interruptions.
Encoder settings that matter
YouTube recommends RTMPS, a secure extension of RTMP. Its current encoder guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS ingest; H.264, H.265 (HEVC), and AV1 video; up to 60 frames per second; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate encoding; and a two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. For a mostly static image, choose a simple, stable configuration rather than maximizing every setting. The values below are YouTube’s published settings accessed in 2026—not a test of your connection or hardware.

These figures are not a guarantee that your upload connection can sustain the stream. Run an upload speed test, leave headroom for connection variation, and validate the chosen setting by testing and watching stream health. YouTube’s full encoder settings and bitrate guidance should take precedence if its recommendations change.

Keep the stream running reliably
A 24/7 broadcast has to survive more than a successful launch. With a local encoder, the computer, encoder process, and internet connection all need to remain available. Whether local or hosted, decide how you will notice a stalled feed, recover after a disconnect, and make playlist changes without interrupting playback. YouTube’s API guide gives an example where a continuous broadcast remains active while a separate broadcast starts and ends; it documents a use case, not a promise that a connection will never drop.
- Test with the exact playlist and image you plan to use, not just a short sample.
- Check stream health after launch and at intervals appropriate to your operation.
- Know how to restart the encoder or reconnect its stream key if the feed stops.
- Keep replacement media and a playlist-update plan ready, while ensuring every added track remains licensed for this use.
