You can keep a YouTube livestream running around the clock from a Windows PC, but the computer setup is only half the job: you also need permission for every recording and composition you broadcast, with the right to livestream and archive it. Verify your channel and enable livestreaming in advance, build and test the stream in a desktop encoder such as OBS, and confirm with each rights holder how its music is handled by YouTube’s Content ID system before adding it to your playlist.
What a 24/7 Marathi music channel requires
Think of the project as two linked operations:
- Continuous playback: a Windows PC runs an encoder that sends the program to YouTube. The stream depends on the PC, power, internet connection, and encoder remaining available; plan for interruptions rather than assuming a home setup is fail-proof.
- Music rights: each song may involve separate rights in the sound recording (the master) and the underlying composition. You need permission that covers your specific YouTube use, and you need to know how the relevant rights holders handle Content ID.
Owning an audio file, crediting the artist, or having a general music license does not by itself establish that you may livestream a song on YouTube. No blanket permission for Marathi songs is established here; check the rights for each track with the applicable owner or representative.
Clear rights before you build the playlist
Confirm what the permission covers
For every recording, identify the owners or representatives for both the recording and composition as applicable. Get written confirmation that the permission covers YouTube livestreaming, any replay or archive of the stream, the territories where viewers may watch, and the length of time the permission lasts. Also establish whether it applies to your channel’s monetization status.
YouTube recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using protected music. Ask the rights holder or its representative directly about the specific tracks and uses you plan. Do not assume a license for ordinary playback, a downloaded file, or another platform automatically covers a YouTube live broadcast or its archive.

Ask about Content ID allowlisting
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A detected match can cause a placeholder to appear; the stream may receive a warning, be interrupted, or be terminated if the issue is not resolved. YouTube says that even when you have a license, you should ask the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Without that step, a licensed song may still trigger a live interruption. If YouTube archives a completed stream, a Content ID claim may also be made after the broadcast ends. Keep the written permission and the allowlisting confirmation together with a track list, the rights holder or representative’s contact information, and the permission’s territories and term. This makes it easier to verify what is cleared and respond promptly if a match occurs.

Do not treat live Content ID matching as a creator setting
YouTube’s live Content ID matching feature is limited to qualifying Content Manager partners and requires global rights and exclusive ownership of the content. It is not a setting a regular channel can enable to make commercial Marathi songs safe to broadcast. Details are in YouTube’s live Content ID matching requirements.
Enable YouTube livestreaming before launch
- Verify your YouTube channel and enable livestreaming in advance. YouTube for Artists advises allowing 24 hours for activation. Do not schedule a launch on the assumption that a newly enabled channel will be ready immediately. See YouTube for Artists’ going-live guidance.
- Choose the broadcast workflow. A desktop encoder such as OBS is a supported way to control a stream from Windows. You will configure the broadcast through your YouTube account and connect the encoder using the stream details provided for that broadcast.
- Prepare the stream’s program. Arrange only cleared tracks in the playback sequence, and prepare a visual that you have the right to use. Decide how the stream should behave if a track ends, the playlist reaches its end, or playback stops.
- Test before going public. YouTube for Artists recommends an unlisted test. Check that audio is being captured, the visual behaves as intended, the stream reaches YouTube, and your planned response to PC, internet, or power interruptions is workable.
- Start the public broadcast and monitor YouTube Studio. Watch for copyright warnings and stream-status problems, especially during the initial run. If a match appears, remove the matched content and resolve the rights issue; continued third-party content can lead to interruption or termination.
Configure the Windows PC and OBS for continuous playback
OBS provides official streaming and encoding help at obsproject.com/help. Use its current guidance and the values shown for your YouTube broadcast rather than relying on a universal bitrate, resolution, or keyframe recipe: the available official material here does not establish exact OBS settings, a minimum Windows specification, or a guaranteed configuration for a 24/7 music stream.

Before choosing or repurposing a PC, assess the workload you actually intend to run. Consider sustained encoder performance at your selected resolution, hardware encoding availability, memory and storage headroom, cooling and noise, power backup, and the reliability of your internet connection. These are planning criteria, not a claim that any specific model is sufficient for every continuous-stream workload.
For an always-on home setup, also consider how you will detect and recover from a frozen encoder, lost internet, power interruption, or a Windows restart. Test the recovery procedure before launch. No particular uptime level or automatic recovery behavior is established for a Windows-and-OBS setup.

Troubleshoot common launch problems
- Livestreaming is not available yet: verify that the channel is enabled for live streaming and allow the activation window YouTube advises—up to 24 hours.
- The stream shows a placeholder or receives a copyright warning: a third-party match may have been detected. Remove the matched song, check the permission and track details, and contact the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting. A license alone may not prevent interruption.
- The stream is interrupted or terminated: YouTube may take action when detected third-party content remains. Stop or remove the content in question and resolve the rights issue before restarting; do not assume restarting alone fixes the underlying match.
- A claim appears after the stream ends: YouTube may make Content ID claims on an archived livestream. Recheck that permission covers the archive as well as the live broadcast, and contact the relevant rights holder or representative.
- Audio, visuals, or continuity fail during a test: check the encoder’s selected sources and playback sequence, then repeat an unlisted test. Also verify your planned recovery steps for power, internet, and PC interruptions; the cited platform guidance does not prescribe a complete Windows recovery procedure.
Plan the channel as an ongoing rights operation
Keep a track-by-track record of the recording and composition rights, live and archive permission, territories, term, monetization conditions, and Content ID allowlisting status. Recheck it before changing the playlist or extending the stream’s availability. YouTube’s live enforcement and a rights holder’s permission are separate parts of the workflow: a channel needs both an operational stream and permission that matches the actual use.
YouTube for Artists reports that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is platform-wide context for live video, not evidence of audience demand for Marathi music specifically.
