You can run a Telugu devotional music stream from OBS by looping recordings you have permission to broadcast, connecting OBS to a YouTube encoder stream, and monitoring the feed. The basic setup is straightforward; keeping it live continuously still depends on a stable computer and internet connection, and YouTube may interrupt music that triggers a rights match.
Before you start: check channel access and music rights
Make sure the channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before the planned start rather than immediately before going live. See YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.
Clear every recording you plan to use
A devotional subject does not by itself make a recording free to rebroadcast. Use original recordings, recordings licensed for your intended YouTube live use, or other material for which you have the necessary rights. Owning a song file or physical copy does not establish streaming permission, and the copyright status of a composition may differ from the rights in a particular performance or recording.
Keep written permissions and check whether the rights holder needs to allowlist your channel in Content ID. YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content; a match can replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. Even licensed material may be interrupted if its owner has not allowlisted your channel. Review YouTube’s copyright policies and the terms of your license before using each track.

Build the looping scene in OBS
Choose a single file or a playlist
In OBS, create a scene and add the authorized audio or video as a source. A still image or authorized visual can be used as the on-screen background. Keep overlays, such as song titles, above the background in the source order.

For a playlist, check the file order and play through it before launching. Use shuffle only if you want the order to change between plays. OBS’s source options are documented at OBS Media Sources.

Open YouTube Studio and choose Create → Go Live. Create or schedule a stream using the encoder workflow in Live Control Room.

In Live Control Room, copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream.

In OBS, open Settings → Stream, select YouTube as the service if available, and enter the server URL and stream key. If OBS presents a YouTube account connection option, the stream key workflow remains an available way to connect.

Keep the stream key private: it authorizes an encoder to send video to your channel. Reset it in YouTube if you think it has been exposed.

Start the stream from OBS, then check the preview and stream health in Live Control Room before directing viewers to it.

Set output quality and test the feed
Choose resolution and bitrate to fit what your internet connection can sustain in practice. YouTube recommends RTMPS, CBR encoding, and a two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds). Its settings page lists 720p at 30 fps with a 2 Mbps video bitrate as one option, not a universal setting for every channel or connection. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

In OBS, open Settings → Output and review the streaming encoder and bitrate. Avoid setting the bitrate equal to your full measured upload speed; leave bandwidth headroom for normal connection variation and other network traffic.

Set the keyframe interval to two seconds if the selected encoder exposes that control, and use CBR where supported.

Check Settings → Video for the output resolution and frame rate you intend to send. A higher resolution is not useful if the connection cannot carry it reliably.

Watch the OBS audio meters while the scene plays. If there is no audio, confirm the source’s audio path and the selected device in OBS’s audio settings.

Run a short test with audio and motion similar to the real stream. Confirm the preview in Live Control Room, check stream health, and listen for clipping, silence, or a mismatch between image and sound.
OBS’s setup advice includes checking meters, output settings, and performing a test; YouTube likewise recommends testing and monitoring stream health. See OBS streaming guide and YouTube live-streaming tips.

With the OBS method, the computer running OBS and its internet connection have to remain available for the stream to continue. A power interruption, computer sleep, OBS crash, or network drop can end the encoder feed; the OBS and YouTube setup guidance does not establish a 24/7 uptime guarantee or automatic recovery from every failure. Disable sleep for the planned run, keep the machine ventilated, and monitor the broadcast so you can respond if it stops.
Do not rely on one 24-hour archive
YouTube states that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not establish that one uninterrupted stream longer than 12 hours will produce a complete archive. If you need recordings, plan separate local recording or suitable shorter broadcasts, and verify the resulting archive in your channel before relying on it. The limit is described in YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.
Troubleshoot common setup problems
- The VLC Video source is missing: install VLC, then reopen or refresh OBS and add the source again. VLC must be installed for this source to appear.
- The file plays once and stops: open Media Source properties and enable Loop. For a song list, use VLC Video and enable Loop Playlist.
- YouTube receives no feed: confirm OBS is streaming, and recheck the server URL and stream key against the current stream in Live Control Room. Reset an exposed key rather than continuing to use it.
- The video reaches YouTube but audio is silent: watch the OBS audio meters during playback, verify the media source’s audio and selected devices, then repeat a test and listen in the Live Control Room preview.
- The stream health is poor or the feed disconnects: lower output resolution or bitrate to a level the upstream connection can sustain, leave bandwidth headroom, and test again. Avoid treating a speed-test peak as guaranteed continuous upload capacity.
- The broadcast is interrupted during a song: inspect YouTube’s live controls for a copyright match and review the rights and any required Content ID allowlisting for that recording. A religious or devotional theme does not override a rights match.
