You can run a continuous YouTube radio stream with a video encoder, a music rotation source, and a connection that stays available—but rights come first. Chillhop Music’s official creator terms expressly say not to use its music for a 24/7 stream, so its creator program is not permission for this format. For any other music, get written clearance for continuous live rebroadcast and any archive, and ask the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist before you go live.
Can you use Chillhop Music for a 24/7 stream?
No. Chillhop Music’s official Creators FAQ says: “Please do not use our music to create your own 24/7 music stream. If this happens, it will be taken down.” Its creator access is not blanket permission for continuous radio-style rebroadcast.
The FAQ also says to use only tracks available through its dashboard, provide the required credit, and not treat its music as royalty-free or public domain. It says not to use Chillhop’s Spotify or Apple Music playlists as livestream sources, because they may include music outside its label. Its artwork and logos cannot be used either. Get rights for the exact broadcast before building the rotation
For a different catalog, obtain written permission from the relevant rights holders for the use you intend to make. Do not assume that owning an audio file, paying for a consumer music subscription, finding a track in a playlist, or having permission to use a song in an ordinary creator video covers continuous live rebroadcast.

Ask the label, distributor, or other rights holder to confirm each of these points:
- Permission for continuous YouTube livestreaming, not just use in a recorded video.
- Which territories are covered and whether any audience or channel restrictions apply.
- Whether the livestream may be archived or replayed as a video on demand (VOD).
- That permission covers both the specific sound recording and the underlying composition, or clearly identifies who controls each.
- How Content ID claims will be handled, and whether the channel will be added to the relevant Content ID allowlist before the broadcast.
- Whether your planned rotation and ongoing use of the catalog are permitted.
YouTube scans all livestreams for third-party content matches. If it detects one, it may replace the stream with a placeholder image, show a warning, interrupt the stream temporarily, or terminate it. A copyright or Community Guidelines strike may also end a stream. YouTube warns that even a licensed stream can be interrupted if the channel has not been added to the rights holder’s allowlist. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music in a livestream. YouTube for Artists The operator must still establish the relevant rights with the actual rights holders; platform guidance is not a music license.
Check that your channel can livestream
YouTube’s current Help guidance says a channel must be verified and have had no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. Users must be at least 16 years old to livestream. The same page lists a limit of 10 active streams per channel and three per stream key. Build a song-rotation workflow with an encoder
An encoder is the natural setup for a continuous program with a designed visual loop and audio. YouTube lists encoder streaming among its live-streaming methods. OBS is one free, open-source encoder option; it sends the stream from your computer to the destination. Neither the encoder nor YouTube’s encoder guidance grants music rights or, by itself, supplies a verified 24/7 song scheduler. YouTube Help: Choose how to live stream · OBS Help
- Clear the music first. Confirm the rights and Content ID arrangements for every track you plan to include. If the stream will be archived, confirm that the permission covers the archive too.
- Prepare a rotation source. Arrange the cleared audio in a playlist or another rotation system, then connect that source to the encoder’s audio input. Choose a player or tool only after verifying its current controls and that it can run the rotation you need; the sources here do not establish a specific application or built-in OBS rotation feature.
- Set up the visual program. Create the visual scene you intend to send, such as a designed still or loop, and confirm that its audio and image output reach the encoder. Use artwork only when you have permission to use it.
- Connect the encoder to YouTube. Open YouTube Live Control Room, create or select the live stream, and use its encoder setup to connect the stream. Keep the stream key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to broadcast through your channel.
- Test the complete rotation privately or with an appropriate test broadcast. Verify that tracks advance as intended, silence or gaps are handled acceptably, and the encoder is actually sending audio and video. Check current YouTube controls for test or visibility options before broadcasting publicly.
- Monitor the live session. Watch both YouTube Live Control Room and the encoder’s connection status. Make a separate plan for what happens if the computer, rotation source, power, or internet connection fails; no particular restart or failover design is established here.
- Choose whether to archive. YouTube says Content ID claims on archived livestreams are made after the stream ends if the creator chooses to archive it. Ensure your license covers the saved material before enabling an archive. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams
Keep the stream stable and recover from interruptions
A computer-based encoder depends on the computer and its internet connection remaining available. OBS says dropped frames can indicate that the connection is unstable or cannot sustain the configured bitrate. If you see dropped frames, check the connection and reduce the bitrate if the connection cannot keep up; then confirm that the stream recovers cleanly in Live Control Room. OBS Help

The official guidance cited here does not establish a universal bitrate, minimum computer specification, guaranteed unattended runtime, or failover plan for 24/7 operation. Choose settings based on the video format you are actually sending and the capacity of your connection, and verify current encoder and YouTube recommendations rather than relying on a generic number.

Choose the setup by its real operating requirements
A computer-and-encoder workflow gives you control over the visual scene and the rotation source, but it depends on your local machine, connection, and restart plan. A cloud service can remove the home-computer dependency for uploaded-video loops, but it does not supply music rights. In either case, compare the specific options against the following requirements rather than assuming a tool or host guarantees uninterrupted broadcasting:
