You can run authorized Malayalam CBSE lesson recordings as a continuous YouTube livestream by sending a playlist from an encoder or cloud playout service to a YouTube stream you create in YouTube Studio. YouTube does not require a particular computer, hardware encoder, or cloud service; the choice depends on how you want to automate playback and keep it running. Before you broadcast, confirm your channel is eligible and that you have permission to rebroadcast every lesson.
Before you start: check channel eligibility and lesson rights
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live activation can take up to 24 hours, and live streamers must be at least 16 years old. Check eligibility and allow time for activation before scheduling a broadcast. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance explains the current requirements.
Confirm that you have the necessary rights or written permission to publicly stream each recording. A CBSE connection, an educational purpose, or possession of a copy does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it. YouTube livestreams must comply with its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service; the rights status of any particular lesson library must be checked with its owner.
Choose how the lessons will play
The stream needs a playout source to send video and audio to YouTube. Options include encoder software running on a computer, a dedicated hardware encoder, or a cloud playout service. These are alternatives, not YouTube prerequisites. YouTube describes an encoder as a tool that converts video into a digital format for streaming, and its encoder guidance includes options for prerecorded and continuous broadcasts. The exact playlist, scheduling, and recovery controls vary by product; there is no universal YouTube playlist-loop setting that works identically across encoders.

Whichever approach you choose, test the playlist and recovery behavior with the actual service or encoder. YouTube’s documentation describes 24/7 broadcasting, but continuous operation is an engineering goal rather than a guarantee that no interruption will occur.
Create the YouTube livestream and connect the encoder
- Sign in to YouTube Studio and select Create → Go Live. Create a new stream or schedule one, following the on-screen setup for the broadcast.
- In the stream settings, copy the YouTube server URL and stream key into the corresponding fields in your encoder or playout service. Treat the key like a password: do not publish or share it. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Load the authorized lesson playlist in the chosen playout tool. Set its playback and looping behavior there; the available controls depend on the tool, so confirm how it handles the end of a playlist, a missing file, and a restart.
- Start sending the stream from the encoder. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, wait for the preview and check that picture and sound are present before relying on the broadcast.
- Use the Live Control Room’s stream-health information while the stream is running. YouTube’s live-streaming API also exposes health status and configuration-issue information for integrations that use it; ordinary creators can monitor in Studio without building an API integration.
Prepare lessons for a useful Malayalam broadcast
- Use a clear sequence and descriptive lesson titles so viewers can tell which topic is playing. Add Malayalam context where it helps learners identify the subject, class, or lesson.
- Preview the actual output. Check that Malayalam text, diagrams, board writing, and slide labels are legible on a phone-sized screen as well as a larger display, and that the audio is audible and synchronized.
- Check transitions between files and the point where the playlist loops. Confirm that a lesson does not cut off mid-explanation and that playback does not stop when a file ends.
- Choose the layout before starting. YouTube supports horizontal and vertical livestream options, and vertical livestreams may be discoverable in the Shorts feed. A vertical crop can make board work and slide text hard to read. Preview the layout first: YouTube says the vertical option cannot be added after the stream starts. Plan for monitoring and interruptions
Keep an eye on the Live Control Room preview and stream health, especially during initial setup and after changing a playlist or encoder setting. The YouTube API’s health-status and configuration-issue information is useful for custom playout systems, but it does not eliminate the need to check the broadcast. Recovery after a dropped connection depends on the encoder or service you selected, so verify its documented restart behavior rather than assuming YouTube will resume the playlist automatically.

- No preview appears: Check that the encoder is sending to the server URL shown for this broadcast and that the correct stream key is entered. Confirm the encoder is actively sending rather than merely configured.
- Preview appears, but playback stops: Inspect the playlist and the encoder’s end-of-list, looping, and file-error settings. Those controls are product-specific.
- Picture or sound is missing or hard to follow: Check the source files and the preview for the affected lesson, including transitions and audio levels.
- Stream health reports an issue: Read the specific configuration warning in Live Control Room, correct the indicated encoder or connection setting, and check the preview again.
- The stream drops: Check the local connection and encoder if using a computer or hardware source; for a cloud service, consult its status and recovery controls. Confirm the stream is sending again and inspect the YouTube preview before treating it as live.
Account for YouTube’s archive limit
YouTube automatically archives livestreams that are under 12 hours. Do not assume a single uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast will be saved as one complete archive. Keep the original lesson files separately and plan how to preserve useful recordings—for example, by using manageable broadcast sessions and checking the resulting archives in YouTube Studio. The applicable archive guidance is in YouTube’s encoder streaming instructions.
Monetization is not automatic
YouTube says channels in the YouTube Partner Program can monetize livestreams, but eligibility for a particular channel or lesson library is not established by the broadcast setup itself. Check the channel’s status and YouTube’s current monetization rules; do not treat continuous playback or educational subject matter as a guarantee of revenue.
