Uploading a service as an ordinary YouTube video makes it available on demand; it does not, by itself, keep a live feed running. For prerecorded services presented as live, an encoder or a hosted service must send the video to YouTube. YouTube lists encoder streaming among its available live-stream methods.
Check channel eligibility before preparing the schedule
- Verify the YouTube channel.
- Check that it has no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days.
- Ensure the person responsible meets YouTube’s current minimum age of 16 to live stream.
These are YouTube’s stated eligibility conditions; review its current live-streaming setup guidance before launch, since platform rules can change. If the channel is ineligible, resolve that before investing time in a continuous schedule.

Its support page, last updated September 3, 2026, says its 24/7 feature requires an Enterprise plan and allows a maximum run of 30 days. Those are OneStream-specific terms, not YouTube requirements. Prepare recordings and clear rights
Before scheduling, assemble a playlist or a program long enough for the ministry’s purpose. Check what the selected encoder or hosted service does when a file or schedule ends, and decide who will notice and respond if the feed stops.

Review every recording for third-party material, including worship music, lyrics, artwork, and embedded clips, as well as any other copyrighted content. YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. If a match is found, YouTube may replace the feed with a placeholder and warn the streamer; if the material remains, the broadcast may be interrupted or terminated. YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams explains the process.
A license alone may not prevent an interruption: YouTube says the rights owner may need to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Document permissions and ask the rightsholder about allowlisting when a license covers the use. Do not assume permission to perform a song in person also grants the separate recording and online-streaming rights; this is a practical rights caution, not a jurisdiction-specific legal conclusion.

Set up, test, and publish the stream
- Pick the delivery route. Use an encoder if the ministry will operate the feed locally, or a hosted service if it will handle prerecorded files and scheduling. Check the service’s end-of-file behavior and schedule limits.
- Create the live stream. Follow the current YouTube Studio workflow or the selected service’s instructions to connect the channel and create the broadcast. YouTube’s API distinguishes an incoming stream from the public-facing broadcast, but most volunteers do not need to configure those API resources themselves.
- Run a private or unlisted test. Confirm that the video and audio play as expected, that the playlist advances or repeats as intended, and that the stream remains available through a representative test period. A successful test is not a guarantee of uninterrupted operation.
- Publish clear details. Use a Tamil title and description that identify the service and state that it is prerecorded when applicable. Share the live link with the congregation in the channels they use.
- Assign an operator. Decide who will check the feed and respond to interruptions. If chat is enabled, assign someone to monitor it according to the ministry’s own policies.

- You cannot start the broadcast: verify the channel and check for live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days; confirm the responsible person meets YouTube’s age requirement.
- The feed is replaced or interrupted: review the recording for matched third-party content. Stop using disputed material and contact the rights owner about permissions and Content ID allowlisting where applicable.
- The program ends instead of continuing: inspect the playlist’s end behavior and the service’s schedule limit. For OneStream specifically, the documented maximum run is 30 days; plan renewal rather than treating that as a YouTube-wide limit.
- The broadcast stops unexpectedly: check the local computer, power, internet, or encoder if self-hosting; with a hosted service, check its schedule status and notifications. The sources do not establish a zero-interruption guarantee for either model.
- The congregation cannot find the stream: confirm the broadcast is public at the intended time, and share its live link with an accurate Tamil title and description.
