Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →You can stream a bhajan video through OBS to YouTube by connecting OBS to a YouTube Live stream, adding your audio and visuals, choosing encoder settings your upload connection can sustain, and monitoring the broadcast. The important limitation is that a computer running OBS is not a guaranteed unattended 24/7 service: power, internet, playback, and copyright interruptions can all stop a stream. YouTube’s cited guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; it does not establish that one uninterrupted stream can run indefinitely.
Before you set up OBS
Enable live streaming on your channel
Your YouTube channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it and confirm access before preparing a long broadcast. See YouTube’s live streaming tips and encoder setup instructions.
Clear the rights to everything viewers will hear and see
Devotional subject matter does not by itself make a recording or arrangement free to use. Check rights for the specific recording, performance, arrangement, and visuals, including the intended live and archived uses. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches; copyrighted content that remains in a stream can lead to interruption or termination. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary worldwide rights, including music licensing rights.
If you have a license for third-party material, the rights owner may still need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license does not necessarily prevent a live interruption if that step is required. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and confirm any allowlisting requirements with the rights owner before you go live.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Create or select a stream in YouTube Studio. Open Live Control Room and create a new stream or choose the one you intend to use. YouTube’s manage live stream settings page covers stream settings.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key. Enter these in OBS’s streaming settings. Treat the stream key like a password: it authorizes an encoder to send a feed. Do not share it publicly; reset it in YouTube Studio if it is exposed. YouTube explains the key and encoder connection in its encoder setup instructions.
- Build an OBS scene for the bhajan. Add the video or visual source and the audio source you intend to broadcast. Check that the audio is reaching OBS and that the picture is visible. For prerecorded material, confirm that the playback arrangement behaves as intended before relying on it for a long session. OBS’s exact scene and looping controls can vary by version and source type, so verify them in the version you use rather than assuming a particular menu path.
- Set output to match the stream you plan to send. Choose the intended resolution and frame rate in the encoder output, then select a bitrate from YouTube’s current resolution-specific recommendations. Use constant bitrate encoding and a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube says the interval should not exceed four seconds. Consult YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions for the actual output resolution and frame rate instead of copying a bitrate intended for a different format.
- Use a stable connection and test before the public broadcast. YouTube recommends checking upload speed, selecting a quality the connection can reliably sustain, configuring the encoder ahead of time, and testing. Start a private or unlisted test, review the Live Control Room preview, and check stream health and messages. Test representative audio and moving video, and verify the live page is accessible from channel/watch pages and mobile devices. See YouTube’s live streaming tips.
- Start OBS and verify the incoming feed. Start streaming from OBS and confirm that the expected image and sound appear in Live Control Room before directing viewers to the live page. Continue watching stream health and messages while the broadcast runs.
- End deliberately. When the session is over, stop the stream in YouTube and stop the encoder in OBS. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; do not assume from that guidance that a longer broadcast will produce one complete archive. See YouTube’s encoder setup page.
Encoder settings and connection choices
Choose settings for a reliable upload, not the highest possible number
YouTube’s general encoder guidance lists RTMP or RTMPS, H.264, constant bitrate encoding, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds). It also gives bitrate ranges by resolution. Select the range for your actual resolution and frame rate on YouTube’s encoder settings page, then test with the audio and motion you will really stream. If the connection cannot sustain the chosen output, lower the quality rather than persisting with an unstable feed.
Use the normal OBS streaming option unless you need HLS
YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted ingestion. HLS is also supported with OBS, but is principally relevant to supported codec or HDR workflows and has higher latency than RTMP because it sends video in segments. YouTube’s HLS requirements include TS segments of 1–4 seconds and a rolling playlist with no more than five outstanding segments, among other constraints. For an ordinary bhajan stream without a specific HLS need, use the standard YouTube/OBS streaming option and verify the settings in Live Control Room. See the encoder settings and HLS setup documentation.

What “continuous” means with a computer running OBS
OBS sends the stream from the computer on which it is running. The computer, playback, power, and internet connection therefore remain part of the broadcast chain. YouTube recommends testing encoder failover when an event uses a backup encoder, but a single-computer OBS setup does not gain redundancy just by being configured as an encoder. The cited YouTube guidance does not promise 24/7 continuity or document an unattended restart mechanism for this setup.
For a long-running stream, test the actual power and network arrangement, check that video and audio continue playing as intended, and make sure someone can respond if the stream fails. Plan archive handling around YouTube’s stated under-12-hour automatic archiving guidance rather than assuming a single uninterrupted stream or archive will cover an indefinite period.

Troubleshooting common problems
- You cannot start a YouTube stream: confirm that live streaming is enabled, the channel is verified, and there has been no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. If this is first-time activation, YouTube says it can take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive the OBS feed: check that the stream URL and key in OBS match the stream selected in Live Control Room. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update OBS with the new key.
- The preview is unstable or stream health shows problems: check upload speed and choose a bitrate and output quality your connection can sustain. Verify the resolution-specific settings against YouTube’s encoder guidance, then test again.
- The stream is interrupted after music or visuals are detected: verify that you have rights to the exact recording and visual material for live and archived use. If a third-party license applies, ask the rights owner whether your channel needs Content ID allowlisting; YouTube notes that an unallowlisted channel can still face interruption.
- The broadcast ends and you cannot find one complete archive: YouTube’s cited guidance guarantees automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours, not a single complete archive for a longer stream. Check the duration and plan future sessions and archive needs accordingly.
