Enable live streaming on your channel
In YouTube Studio, complete channel verification and enable live streaming if you have not done so already. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time access to become available. Confirm the channel meets YouTube’s eligibility requirements before scheduling around the stream.

Install and configure the computer encoder you plan to use. Build the scene around the real stream: the video source, any overlays, and audio inputs. Create or select a stream in YouTube Studio
Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create a stream or select the one you intend to run. Copy the YouTube Live server URL and stream key into the corresponding fields in your encoder, following the encoder’s current interface. Choose quality based on measured upload capacity
Set the output resolution, frame rate, and bitrate to a combination the internet connection can sustain reliably. YouTube transcodes live streams into different viewer output formats. You therefore need to send a stable, compatible source stream rather than encode every viewer resolution locally. For a continuous stream, use the output settings you can maintain in a representative test, not just a brief setup preview. See YouTube’s encoder settings guidance; OBS also describes transcoding as converting a source feed into versions with different resolutions, frame rates, and bitrates at its streaming and recording guide.

Test the complete scene before going live
Run a test using the same video, audio, movement, overlays, and settings you expect to use for the actual stream. YouTube specifically recommends that tests include audio and movement similar to the planned stream. Check the encoder preview and YouTube’s stream-health messages, then fix any warnings before treating the configuration as ready.

Start the encoder’s output and confirm the stream appears in YouTube’s Live Control Room. While it runs, monitor stream health and review messages from both YouTube and the encoder. A continuous setup still depends on the encoder, platform, network, and local power remaining available; verify it in the conditions where it will actually operate.
Validate the setup for continuous use in India
