How to Run a Hindi Devotional Music YouTube Live Loop with OBS

Use OBS Media Source’s Loop option for one rights-cleared devotional recording, or VLC Video for a playlist. Connect YouTube’s encoder stream, test the loop and audio, and monitor stream health.

To loop Hindi devotional music on YouTube Live with OBS, add a rights-cleared audio or video file as an OBS Media Source, enable Loop, connect OBS to an encoder stream in YouTube Live Control Room, then test the picture, sound, and stream health before going public. You need a verified YouTube channel with no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. The key nontechnical step is confirming that the specific recording is licensed for live use—and for any saved replay.

Before you set up the loop

Check YouTube Live eligibility

YouTube’s encoder-streaming guidance requires a verified channel and no live-stream restriction in the prior 90 days. In YouTube Live Control Room, create or schedule a stream using an encoder, then keep the stream URL and stream key available for OBS. YouTube treats the key like a password: do not show it in screenshots or share it publicly. If it is exposed, reset it in the control room.

Clear the exact recording for live use

A bhajan, mantra, hymn, or traditional melody is not automatically free to stream. The composition, arrangement, performance, and sound recording may have separate rights. Use music you made yourself, obtained permission to stream, or licensed under terms that expressly cover YouTube live use, the relevant territory, monetization if applicable, and an archived replay if you plan to keep one.

YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can interrupt or terminate a stream. Even a recording you have licensed may trigger Content ID unless the rights holder allowlists your channel. Ask the owner about allowlisting before you go live. Creator Music licensing currently does not support live content, so it is not a clearance route for this stream. YouTube also warns that music described online as “free” may still be flagged.

Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Set up a single-file loop in OBS

  1. Create a scene. In OBS, use the Scenes panel to create or select a scene for the devotional stream. A scene can combine the music source with a still image or title text. Use only images you have rights to use, too.
  2. Add the recording. In the Sources panel, add a Media Source, choose the local audio or video file, and enable Loop in its properties. OBS documents common audio formats such as MP3, AAC, OGG, and WAV, and video formats such as MP4, MOV, MKV, and WebM. Playback compatibility can still depend on the file and system.
  3. Arrange the scene. If the source is audio-only, add a still devotional image or title text so the stream has a visual. If the source is video, position and size it in the preview as needed. Keep the composition simple and check that no unintended desktop or private information is visible.
  4. Check the transition back to the start. Preview the file through its ending and loop point. Listen for an abrupt cut, silence, or unexpected restart. If you need a fade or other edit, make and review that change in the media file before relying on it live; the documented Media Source Loop option repeats playback but does not itself promise a seamless musical transition.

Use a playlist of devotional tracks instead

For several local files, use OBS’s VLC Video source and enable Loop Playlist. VLC must be installed, and its architecture must match OBS: use 64-bit VLC with 64-bit OBS. Arrange and check the playlist order before streaming, and confirm the final track returns to the first as intended.

OBS source Best for Trade-off
Media Source with Loop Repeating one local audio or video file Minimal setup; the single file repeats when playback completes.
VLC Video with Loop Playlist Playing several local files in sequence Requires VLC installed with the same architecture as OBS.

Connect OBS to YouTube and choose output settings

  1. Copy the stream details. In YouTube Live Control Room, open the encoder stream you created and copy its stream URL and stream key. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose the YouTube service or configure the server and key if using a custom service option, then enter the details. Keep the key private.
  2. Choose the connection protocol. Use RTMPS where available; YouTube recommends encrypted RTMPS ingestion.
  3. Match output to your stable upload capacity. YouTube’s encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 video for RTMP/RTMPS, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate (CBR), up to 60 fps, and a recommended keyframe interval of 2 seconds, not exceeding 4 seconds. Choose a resolution and frame rate your upload can sustain rather than selecting the highest option by default.
  4. Use bitrate guidance as a starting point, not a guarantee. YouTube’s H.264 recommendations include 5 Mbps for 1080p30 and 3 Mbps for 720p30. The appropriate setting depends on resolution, frame rate, codec, and stable upload bandwidth; a connection that cannot sustain the selected output can cause poor stream health.
  5. Check the audio path. Confirm the OBS audio meter responds during playback and that the source is not muted. Listen to the test stream on another device, since the local preview alone does not confirm what viewers receive.

Test, start, and monitor the stream

  1. Set the YouTube test stream to private or unlisted if appropriate for your channel and use case.
  2. Start the stream from OBS and wait for the YouTube preview. Confirm the image is present, audio is audible, and the correct scene is being sent.
  3. Let playback reach the loop point, or let the playlist finish, and verify that it resumes as expected.
  4. Check YouTube Live Control Room’s stream-health messages during the test. YouTube recommends testing with similar audio and video to the planned stream and monitoring the preview and stream health.
  5. When ready for the intended audience, start or schedule the public stream in YouTube. For an OBS-based 24/7 loop, the computer running OBS and its network connection must remain on; monitor for interruptions.

Troubleshooting common problems

  • YouTube does not accept the stream: Check that the channel meets encoder-live eligibility, that you selected the correct stream in Live Control Room, and that the URL and key were copied correctly. Reset the key if it may have been exposed.
  • The preview is blank: Confirm the intended scene is selected, the media file is loaded, and the source is visible in the OBS preview. Check that the file plays locally and uses a format supported by your system.
  • There is no audio: Check that the Media Source is not muted and that its audio meter moves during playback. Listen from a second device and check the YouTube preview rather than relying only on the OBS monitoring setup.
  • The stream health is poor or playback stutters: Reduce output resolution, frame rate, or bitrate to a level your stable upload can sustain. Re-test with the actual audio and visual content and monitor YouTube’s health messages.
  • The loop stops instead of repeating: Reopen Media Source properties and confirm Loop is enabled. For multiple files, confirm you used VLC Video and enabled Loop Playlist; check that VLC is installed with architecture matching OBS.
  • The live stream is interrupted by a copyright match: Stop and resolve the rights issue rather than repeatedly restarting. Verify that your permission covers this exact recording and live use, and ask the rights holder whether Content ID allowlisting is required. A license does not guarantee that automated matching will not interrupt the stream.
