Yes—you can build a YouTube gaming rerun channel using a cyber cafe PC, but first get the operator’s permission, check the game publisher’s commercial-use rules, and make each episode meaningfully your own. Replaying unchanged footage—especially someone else’s—can put monetization at risk, and YouTube may interrupt a live stream that contains detected third-party content.
Decide what “rerun” means for your channel
A rerun can be your own old livestream, a new session built around the same game, an unchanged video played repeatedly, or another person’s gameplay. Those formats differ in who controls the footage and how much original value you add. A good starting point is to make each episode serve a clear viewer purpose, such as explaining a route, narrating a challenge, teaching a mechanic, or reviewing a match. That is a practical way to respond to YouTube’s guidance, not a promise of monetization approval.

YouTube says monetization depends on the commercial-use rights granted by the game publisher. Its guidance warns that simple, extended gameplay may not be accepted, while step-by-step commentary tied to the live action and providing instructional or educational value may be eligible. These are YouTube policy guidelines, not a legal ruling or a guarantee that a particular upload will be monetized. - Check whether the publisher allows monetized gameplay videos and livestreams.
- Look for rules on in-game music, required attribution, competitive play, and unreleased content.
- Do not assume that buying a game grants commercial upload rights or that gameplay automatically qualifies as fair use.
Get the cyber cafe’s approval before using its PC
Ask the operator before you sign into a creator account, install or run recording or streaming software, connect a USB headset or other peripheral, use removable storage, save large video files, or make a long upload or live broadcast. A public-use PC does not automatically permit any of those activities. The cafe’s permissions, PC configuration, storage limits, and network capacity need to be confirmed at that venue.

- Explain the whole workflow. Say whether you will record gameplay, edit or store files, upload videos, or broadcast live, and how long the PC and connection may be in use.
- Ask about accounts and software. Confirm that the operator permits signing into YouTube and using the available capture, editing, or streaming tools. Do not install software or change system settings without approval.
- Confirm storage and peripherals. Ask whether you may connect a headset or drive and where files can be saved. A USB headset with a microphone is an optional way to capture commentary, not a platform requirement; confirm compatibility and permission first.
- Protect your account. Use only a computer the operator has approved for this work. Sign out of YouTube and other accounts when finished, remove access to saved credentials, and take any permitted personal storage with you.
India’s Information Technology (Guidelines for Cyber Cafe) Rules, 2011 include provisions on registration, user identification, and keeping specified user and access records for at least one year. That is the period stated in the 2011 rules; this does not establish how later amendments or every state or union territory’s current requirements apply. Check with the cafe operator or an appropriate local authority.
Build episodes that show your authorship
Record commentary that explains what is happening and why. Teach a technique, set a challenge with clear rules, compare approaches, or analyse a match. The point is not to add a voice track mechanically, but to give the episode a distinct purpose and meaningful contribution. YouTube reviews monetization at the channel level; its policy says repetitive or mass-produced uploads fall under its inauthentic-content policy, while reused content without significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value can also jeopardize monetization. - Write a specific episode outline rather than relying on a new title for an otherwise identical replay.
- Keep commentary connected to the gameplay: explain a decision, demonstrate a mechanic, or point out what viewers should learn.
- Use your own recordings where possible, and make the difference between episodes clear in the content itself.
- Do not treat permission to use another creator’s footage as proof that the result meets YouTube’s originality rules.
Choose a recording-and-upload or live workflow
Record, then upload
If you can create or bring your own recording, make the episode on a PC the cafe has approved, add your original narration or analysis, and upload the finished video when the operator permits it. This avoids needing the cafe PC to stay available for a continuous live broadcast. Check the publisher’s rules for both the gameplay and any game audio in your recording.
Broadcast a rerun live
If you choose to broadcast, use only a workflow and software the operator has approved, and follow the current instructions shown by YouTube and the software you are using. The title, PC, and connection are unspecified, so no single encoder setting, resolution, bitrate, or keyframe interval can responsibly be prescribed here. A stream key is sensitive account access: enter it only into an approved, trusted workflow, do not leave it saved on a shared PC, and follow YouTube’s current account and stream setup guidance.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A detected match may trigger a warning or interruption; unresolved material can cause a stream to be interrupted or terminated, and an archived live stream may receive a Content ID claim after it ends. Avoid adding commercial music or another person’s broadcast unless you have the necessary rights. Check the finished upload’s ad suitability separately
Permission to use a game and eligibility for channel monetization do not mean every video will carry ads. YouTube’s gaming and monetisation guidance notes that audio, graphics, text, thumbnails, and the focal gameplay subject matter can affect advertiser suitability. Troubleshoot the common blockers
- The cafe will not allow recording, software, accounts, or storage: Do not work around the restriction. Ask what is permitted or use a different venue or workflow.
- The PC cannot run the required workflow: Ask the operator what software and hardware are available before planning a live session. A particular cafe PC’s capabilities cannot be assumed.
- The upload or broadcast cannot be sustained: Confirm with the operator that the network may be used for a long transfer or stream. If the connection or session is not reliable enough, consider making an episode for upload rather than promising a continuous live broadcast.
- A live stream receives a warning or stops: Check YouTube’s notice for the detected third-party content. Remove or resolve the rights issue before trying again; changing the title alone does not address it.
- The channel is not accepted for monetization: Review the channel as a whole for reused, repetitive, or mass-produced videos and make the original contribution clear in the videos themselves, not only in descriptions.
- A video has limited ad suitability: Review its gameplay focus, audio, graphics, text, and thumbnail against YouTube’s advertiser-friendly guidance. Monetization eligibility does not guarantee ads on each video.
