How to Run a YouTube Live Video Loop on Airtel Broadband

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To loop a prerecorded video on YouTube Live over Airtel broadband, play it on a computer in OBS Studio, enable the source’s loop setting, and send OBS’s feed to YouTube using the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio. Choose the stream bitrate from your measured upload speed—not your advertised download speed—and test the connection before going live.

Before you start: check YouTube access and Airtel upload

  • Your YouTube channel must be verified and free of live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. YouTube says live streamers must be at least 16. If this is the channel’s first live stream, enable the feature in advance; initial activation can take time.
  • Run an upload-speed test on the same computer and network you plan to stream from. An Airtel plan name or download-speed figure does not establish your available upload capacity. Other devices and household traffic also use bandwidth.
  • YouTube recommends keeping 20% of your upload capacity in reserve. Its streaming tips say the total stream bitrate must fit within available upload bandwidth and recommend leaving that headroom.
  • Check the terms for your exact Airtel plan and location. Airtel’s Xstream Fiber terms state a 3333 GB threshold per billing cycle, after which speed may be reduced to up to 2 Mbps. Airtel says the FUP may be amended at its discretion; applicability and current terms should be confirmed for your connection.

A wired Ethernet connection from the computer to the router is an optional way to avoid relying on Wi-Fi, but it does not guarantee uninterrupted service. Test whichever connection you intend to use.

Loop one video file in OBS

  1. Install and open OBS Studio. Create a scene, then add a Media Source.
  2. Select the prerecorded video file and enable Loop in the source properties. For a playlist rather than a single file, use OBS’s VLC Video source and enable Loop Playlist.
  3. Fit the source to the canvas and inspect the preview. Check that the video plays correctly and that its audio is present at the intended level. If the file has no audio or its audio should not play, review the source’s audio settings before broadcasting.

OBS documents Media Sources and playlist looping in its Media Sources guide. If a setting has moved in a newer OBS version, consult the current source properties.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live

  1. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live. In Live Control Room, use the Stream tab to create or schedule an encoder stream.
  2. Copy the server URL and stream key from YouTube into OBS’s streaming settings. Use YouTube’s RTMPS server option when supported; RTMPS encrypts the connection to YouTube’s ingestion service.
  3. Treat the stream key like a password. Do not show it in a recording, share it publicly, or leave it visible in a screen capture. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio.
  4. Choose a resolution and bitrate that your tested upload can sustain while preserving YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. Consult YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance for the relevant resolution and frame rate; do not select the highest quality setting by default.

Test, go live, and end the broadcast

  1. Start streaming in OBS and wait for the signal to appear in YouTube’s preview.
  2. Confirm the loop is moving, the audio is correct, and Live Control Room reports a healthy stream. If the scheduled workflow requires it, press Go live in Live Control Room to start the public event.
  3. Keep the computer, OBS, and broadband connection running for the length of the broadcast. Monitor YouTube’s stream health and audio/video quality rather than assuming a successful start guarantees a stable session.
  4. To finish, end the event in YouTube and stop sending the stream from OBS. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; its guidance does not establish that a longer continuous stream will be archived as one recording.

Common problems and fixes

Symptom Likely cause What to check
YouTube receives no signal OBS is not streaming, or its server URL or key does not match the stream in Live Control Room. Confirm the correct stream is selected in YouTube Studio, recheck the copied URL and key in OBS, and start streaming from OBS.
Video stutters or stream health degrades The total bitrate is too high for available upload, or competing household traffic reduces capacity. Repeat an upload test on the streaming computer and network; lower the OBS bitrate or resolution until there is sufficient headroom, then test again.
Video stops instead of repeating Loop is not enabled on the Media Source, or the playlist source is configured differently. Check the source properties: enable Loop for a Media Source or Loop Playlist for a VLC Video source.
Picture works but audio is missing or wrong The file has no audio, source audio is misconfigured, or the wrong level is being sent. Review the source’s audio settings and listen to the OBS preview or a private test before the public broadcast.
The connection slows during a long session Available upload may have changed, household use may have increased, or plan-specific usage terms may apply. Check current Airtel terms for the subscribed plan and location, retest upload, and reassess the bitrate against available capacity.

Copyright and long-running content

Only stream video and audio you have the rights or permission to broadcast. A loop does not make copyrighted material safe to rebroadcast, and YouTube may restrict a live stream or its archive. YouTube also applies its channel monetization policies to reused content; permission to use material and eligibility for monetization are separate questions. Review YouTube’s current channel monetization policies and use the copyright safety checklist before scheduling a loop.

Or let it run in the cloud

If you do not want a computer and home connection running throughout the broadcast, StreamNeo keeps an uploaded video or playlist looping from the cloud to YouTube. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It is for uploaded video, not a live camera feed.
