You can run a prerecorded yoga program continuously by hosting an encoder on an Indian VPS and sending its output to YouTube Live. Create a YouTube stream, give the encoder YouTube’s server URL and stream key, and keep the VPS process running. The difficult part is not starting the feed: it is confirming the VPS can sustain the chosen bitrate, arranging automatic recovery, and having rights to every video and sound in the program.
What the VPS does—and what YouTube does
The VPS is the computer that runs the encoder and sends the live feed. YouTube is the destination: it supplies the ingest server URL and stream key for the live stream you create or schedule in YouTube Studio. The VPS does not make a stream eligible, provide music rights, or guarantee that YouTube will preserve a long broadcast as an archive.
This workflow suits a prerecorded yoga class, sequence, or other prepared video source. You need an encoder capable of sending that source as a live feed. A VPS can also encode a source in real time, but that uses CPU capacity; choose and test the machine accordingly. No particular Indian provider or plan is established here, so treat any advertised VPS as a candidate to verify, not a proven 24/7 streaming solution.
Check channel eligibility and rights before building the stream
Make sure the channel can go live
YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. It also states a minimum age of 16 for live streaming. Check the channel’s current status before renting a VPS or configuring an encoder.

Clear every part of the yoga program
You are responsible for having the necessary rights to the live content. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions expressly include music licensing rights and other rights needed for worldwide use on Google services. That applies to the music as well as the yoga footage, voiceover, and any other included material.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. Its copyright guidance says a placeholder may replace a stream, and the feed may be interrupted or terminated if matched content remains or a relevant strike applies. If you have a license, check whether the rights holder requires allowlisting through Content ID. A license alone should not be assumed to prevent an automated interruption.

Choose a VPS for sustained streaming, not its headline speed
Before buying, ask the provider to confirm that your intended continuous streaming workload is allowed and assess the complete monthly cost. An advertised port speed or “unmetered” label does not establish that the VPS can sustain your feed around the clock.

The National Informatics Centre’s webcast-services page specifies 2–4 Mbps of dedicated bandwidth per stream for its own service; the page does not state a publication year. That is not a YouTube bitrate requirement and is not a substitute for checking your encoder setting or the VPS provider’s capacity.

Set the YouTube stream and encoder
- Create the destination in YouTube Studio. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions to create or schedule a live stream. Copy the generated server URL and stream key into your encoder. Treat the key as a password: do not post it in public scripts, screenshots, or support messages.
- Use RTMPS where the encoder supports it. YouTube’s RTMPS ingestion guide describes RTMPS as RTMP over SSL and requires the
rtmpsprotocol, a valid YouTube ingest endpoint and path, port 443, and the correct server hostname for SNI. Use the URL YouTube provides and make sure your encoder and network configuration preserve those connection details. - Choose the output settings for the intended resolution and frame rate. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance supports H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 video with AAC or MP3 audio over RTMP/RTMPS. It recommends constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval, and no more than four seconds between keyframes.
- Match bitrate to the output mode. YouTube recommends 4 Mbps for 240p–720p at 30 fps, 6 Mbps for 720p at 60 fps, and 10 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps. These are YouTube’s encoder recommendations, not a promise that a particular VPS can sustain the output. Select a setting appropriate to your video and verify it with a real test.
- Test the whole path before relying on it. Send representative yoga footage and audio, inspect the Live Control Room preview and stream-health indicators, and monitor the feed during operation. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend leaving 20% headroom above the total bitrate being sent. Confirm actual upload capacity from the VPS with that margin; a provider’s advertised port rate is not a sustained-throughput test.
Keep the feed running and plan for recovery
A 24/7 setup needs more than a successful first connection. Configure the VPS operating system and encoder so the process remains active after a shell session ends, and arrange monitoring that can detect a disconnected feed and restart the encoder. The exact service manager, restart policy, and commands depend on the operating system and encoder; they are not established by YouTube’s ingest documentation. Test a deliberate process restart and a network interruption before treating the setup as unattended.
- Keep the stream key private and rotate it in YouTube Studio if it is exposed.
- Watch stream health and VPS upload utilization, not just whether the encoder process exists.
- Check that a restart reconnects to the correct scheduled stream and does not leave an unattended duplicate or stale session.
- Re-test after changing the source, bitrate, encoder, VPS plan, or network route.
Do not rely on YouTube for a complete archive of an always-on stream
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. The archive guidance does not state a publication year. Troubleshoot common failures
