You can run a recorded webinar continuously on YouTube Live, but scheduling a live event alone does not play the recording. You need an encoder or service to send the video to YouTube and repeat it. First enable live streaming on your channel, create or schedule the event, connect the stream using YouTube’s server URL and stream key, then rehearse playback and recovery before sharing the event.
What an evergreen YouTube Live stream requires
A scheduled YouTube Live event creates a watch page and lets viewers receive reminders; a separate encoder or streaming service must send the actual video feed. YouTube describes an encoder as software or hardware that converts video into a digital format for streaming. Its setup guidance explains how to connect an encoder using the server URL and stream key shown in YouTube Studio: YouTube encoder setup.
For a 24/7 webinar, the playback source must also repeat the recording or playlist and remain connected. A local encoder depends on your computer, software and internet connection staying available. A cloud service can play uploaded recordings without keeping a home computer running.
Check channel access and webinar rights
Enable live streaming before launch day
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days; initial live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours. The official eligibility guidance also says streamers must be at least 16: YouTube live-streaming eligibility. Enable and verify access well before announcing the event.

Clear everything viewers will hear or see
Confirm that you have the rights needed to stream the complete webinar, not just the main presentation. Check embedded music, slides, guest footage and sponsor material. YouTube’s live-stream terms require the necessary rights for the content, including applicable music licensing: YouTube Terms of Service.
Set up the evergreen webinar step by step
- Prepare the recording. Review the full video and audio, check that its start and end work when repeated, and confirm the file is supported by your chosen playback method. Keep a separate copy of the original recording if preserving it matters.
- Create the event. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a stream, or use the Manage tab to schedule one. Add the title, description, thumbnail, visibility and start time. Scheduling helps with promotion and reminders; it does not start a continuous prerecorded feed.
- Choose a playback method. Select a local encoder for hands-on control if you can keep the computer and connection online, or a cloud service for unattended playback. Check that the specific tool and plan support the recording length, looping or playlist behavior, and recovery you need.
- Connect the feed. In YouTube Studio, copy the server URL and stream key for the intended stream. Enter them in the encoder or service’s YouTube destination settings, then select the webinar file or playlist as the source. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish or share it. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Start with a rehearsal. Run a short private or unlisted test. Check that the intended event is receiving the feed, picture and sound are correct, the recording restarts or loops as expected, and the service recovers as intended after a connection interruption. The test confirms your setup; a successful rehearsal does not guarantee uninterrupted operation later.
- Go live and monitor. Confirm the stream is active in Live Control Room, then share the event link. Check the stream periodically and have a way to respond if the source stops, the connection drops or YouTube reports an issue.
YouTube’s live-stream guidance says a channel can have up to 10 active streams and each stream key up to 3 active streams. These limits are more relevant to multi-output setups than a single webinar: YouTube live-streaming settings and limits.

Choose how to keep the recording playing
For a 24/7 YouTube stream, StreamNeo is the first cloud option to consider: it keeps uploaded video playing from the cloud, up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and the first day is free.
| Approach | Best fit | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Unattended YouTube playback of uploaded recordings or playlists, without a dedicated streaming computer running at home. | YouTube only; the service plays uploaded video and does not broadcast a camera feed. |
| Local encoder such as OBS | A technically comfortable creator who wants direct control and can keep a streaming computer and connection online. | You must handle local uptime, monitoring and continuity. YouTube lists OBS as open-source streaming software but does not promise unattended restart behavior. |
| Gyre | Cloud-based 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streaming. | YouTube’s verified-encoder listing establishes the general use case, not current plan limits, recovery behavior, file handling or pricing. Confirm those with the vendor. |
| Restream video-file or playlist event | Scheduling video or playlist sources, including a multistream workflow. | The cited documentation does not establish uninterrupted 24/7 repetition for every plan; verify continuous-loop support before relying on it. |
| StreamYard prerecorded broadcast | A finite prerecorded webinar broadcast that starts automatically. | Its documented video-duration limits are 2 hours on Core, 4 hours on Advanced, and 8 hours on Teams or Business; it should not be treated as an unlimited 24/7 loop. |
YouTube’s verified-encoder directory lists cloud tools for prerecorded 24/7 streaming, including Gyre: YouTube live-streaming tools. Restream documents video-file and playlist sources: Restream Help Center. StreamYard documents its prerecorded video limits: StreamYard prerecorded streams. Vendor features and plan limits can change, so confirm current details before paying.

Do not rely on YouTube to save the full continuous stream
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends keeping a local archive backup: YouTube live-stream archiving guidance. A 24/7 event is therefore not a dependable way to preserve the complete webinar as a replay. Save the source recording separately and plan an archive outside the live event if viewers need an on-demand version.

Monetization is conditional
YouTube applies its channel monetization policies to live streams. Its July 15, 2025 policy update renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content” to clarify that repetitive or mass-produced material may be ineligible: YouTube channel monetization policies. A loop alone does not establish eligibility. YouTube also says ads are not guaranteed to serve, even when monetization is enabled for a live stream: YouTube live-stream monetization. Avoid promising viewers or sponsors that a continuous loop will earn revenue.
Make the event page clear that it is a prerecorded webinar playing continuously. If you record a new webinar, YouTube notes that external microphones are common streaming hardware, but a microphone is optional for playback of an existing recording: YouTube streaming setup guidance.

Troubleshooting common problems
- You cannot start the stream: confirm channel verification and live-stream eligibility, and allow up to 24 hours after first enabling live streaming.
- YouTube does not receive a signal: check that the encoder is using the server URL and stream key for the correct event. Replace the key in both places if it was exposed or changed.
- The event page exists but shows no webinar: scheduling creates the event page, not the video feed. Start the encoder or cloud playback source and confirm it is sending to that event.
- The video stops or fails to restart: check local computer sleep, encoder status and internet stability for a local setup. For a cloud service, inspect its playback status and confirm the selected plan supports looping and recovery; do not assume these behaviors from the word “scheduled.”
- The complete stream is missing from archives: streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured. Use the source recording or a separate local archive rather than depending on the live archive.
- Copyright or monetization issues appear: review music and other embedded material against your streaming rights, and assess whether the loop meets YouTube’s originality and monetization policies.
