Yes—you can run two simultaneous 24/7 YouTube broadcasts from one computer, but the setup depends on whether they carry the same content. If one incoming feed should appear in two YouTube videos, a single stream can be bound to multiple broadcasts. If the streams show different content, configure a separate YouTube stream resource and encoder output for each. In either case, test both outputs together; there is no universal PC specification that guarantees two continuous streams.
Choose the right setup for your two broadcasts

YouTube treats a broadcast as a distinct video or event and a stream as the incoming audio/video feed. Each broadcast binds to one stream, while a stream may be bound to multiple broadcasts. See YouTube’s Live Streaming API guide for the API workflow and its shared-feed example. If you are using an encoder interface rather than the API, check that it supports the broadcast arrangement you need.
Set up two different-content streams
- Create or prepare two YouTube broadcasts. For independent content, configure a distinct stream for each broadcast in the workflow you use. Confirm which stream key belongs to which broadcast before starting the encoder.
- Configure two encoder outputs. Assign each output its own destination and corresponding stream key. Select the intended scene or source, resolution, frame rate, codec, and bitrate separately for each output. Do not assume one stream key will create two independent feeds.
- Use RTMPS where your encoder supports it. YouTube recommends RTMPS for secure ingestion. Its guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS protocols and H.264, H.265 (HEVC), and AV1 video codecs.
- Set a constant video bitrate and keyframes. YouTube recommends CBR video and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. Keep each output within the bitrate recommendation for its codec, resolution, and frame rate.
- Test both outputs simultaneously. Use representative movement and audio, run both for a realistic period, and check the stream health indicators and messages in YouTube before relying on unattended operation.
Choose bitrate and upload capacity
Your internet connection must sustain the combined outgoing video bitrates, plus audio and network overhead. YouTube advises testing upload bitrate and choosing a quality appropriate to the connection. Its current guidance includes these recommended H.264 examples:

The two-output totals are arithmetic planning estimates before audio and overhead, not guarantees of required connection speed or stream stability. YouTube’s recommendations vary by codec and frame rate, so check its current live encoder settings for your exact configuration. Leave practical headroom rather than planning to use every bit of measured upload capacity.

Check the computer and network under real load
YouTube does not publish a universal minimum CPU, GPU, or RAM specification for two continuous streams. Whether one computer can encode both depends on the actual outputs: shared versus separate encoding, resolution, frame rate, scenes, and encoder implementation all matter. A computer that can handle one output may not sustain two higher-load outputs reliably.
- Run both streams at their intended settings for a meaningful test duration.
- Watch encoder load, dropped frames, stream health, and connection stability while both outputs are active.
- Use representative source playback, movement, and audio; a static test screen can hide problems that appear in the real stream.
- Test the upload connection at the time and location where the streams will run. A wired Ethernet connection to the router can be a practical way to reduce local wireless variability, but it is not a YouTube requirement.
YouTube recommends preflight testing and monitoring health messages. The LiveStreams API can report configuration or ingestion problems including low bitrate, long keyframe intervals, missing audio or video, and starved video ingestion. OBS also notes that YouTube transcodes incoming live streams for viewers, including the source feed; encoder ingestion settings do not guarantee a particular viewer experience. Plan for 24/7 interruptions
A successful test proves only that the tested configuration worked under those conditions. Continuous operation also depends on power, internet service, source playback, and the encoder staying up. The platform guidance describes stream setup and health signals, but does not establish a complete automatic recovery plan or a minimum UPS or computer specification.
- Test what happens when the source pauses, the encoder is restarted, or the connection briefly drops.
- Check that each broadcast is still receiving the intended feed after recovery; do not assume both outputs reconnect identically.
- Consider power and internet contingencies appropriate to your setup, and verify them in a controlled test before depending on them.
- Keep an eye on YouTube stream health and messages, especially after changing a key, bitrate, codec, or encoder output.
