Yes, in principle: YouTube says software or hardware encoders can support multiple simultaneous streams. But that does not confirm that one current OBS setup can send two different prerecorded videos to two separate YouTube events, or specify how to configure it. YouTube’s documentation covers the event, stream-key, quality and monitoring workflow; the exact two-output OBS procedure remains unverified here, so don’t assume one OBS process—or two—is sufficient.
What one PC needs to do
To run both broadcasts, the setup must produce two independent outputs: each prerecorded video needs to reach its own YouTube live event. YouTube’s general guidance establishes that local software or hardware encoding can support multiple simultaneous streams. It does not certify the performance of a particular computer or establish that OBS can create these two independent outputs with a particular configuration.
There are two separate capacity questions:
- Encoding capacity: the PC must be able to process both outputs reliably. The available YouTube guidance does not give a hardware specification for this two-video OBS use case.
- Upload capacity: both outgoing streams use the internet connection at the same time. YouTube advises choosing a quality that is reliable for the connection and testing before going live; the reviewed guidance does not state a specific bandwidth formula for two streams.
Because the exact OBS multi-output method and resource requirements are not established by the available documentation, verify those points in current OBS documentation before relying on a particular setup. Do not treat YouTube’s general support for simultaneous streams as proof that a particular OBS workflow will work.
Prepare two YouTube live events
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube Help says a channel must be verified, must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16.
- Create a separate event for each video. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, use Manage to schedule each event. Scheduling lets you share and promote each watch URL in advance.
- Keep the event details distinct. Note which video, event, watch URL, stream URL and stream key belong together. Each encoder output must be directed to the matching event.
Map each encoder output to the right event
YouTube’s documented encoder workflow uses the event’s stream URL and stream key. A stream key tells YouTube which incoming feed to accept. For two events, carefully match each output to its intended event rather than reusing the wrong event’s credentials. YouTube allows stream settings to be reused when creating another stream, but that does not remove the need to check the destination for each output.

Treat stream keys like passwords: do not show them in a public recording, screenshot, chat or stream. If a key is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio before using that event.
The available documentation does not supply the OBS-specific steps for creating and routing two independent prerecorded outputs. In particular, it does not establish whether one OBS process, multiple instances, or another arrangement is appropriate. Confirm the current OBS method and test that each output reaches the correct event before scheduling a real broadcast.

Choose settings and test both feeds
YouTube’s general encoder guidance lists RTMP or RTMPS, H.264, constant bitrate (CBR), and a recommended keyframe interval of 2 seconds. Use RTMPS where supported. Choose a resolution, frame rate and bitrate appropriate to the intended stream and the available upload connection; YouTube’s guidance says the precise bitrate depends on resolution and frame rate rather than giving one universal target.
- Run a speed test and choose stream quality that the connection can sustain reliably, with both outputs active.
- Test the actual prerecorded files, including representative motion and audio, before the event. Confirm that each video appears in the preview for its own YouTube event.
- Start the encoders at least 15 minutes before a scheduled event, as YouTube Help recommends, so there is time to check preview and stream status.
- Monitor stream health in Live Control Room while the broadcasts are live. Stop the encoder output when its event ends.
Troubleshoot before the audience arrives
- No preview on one event: check that its encoder output uses that event’s stream URL and key, and confirm that the output is actually running.
- The wrong video appears on an event: recheck the mapping between each prerecorded file, output and YouTube event before going live.
- Both outputs are unstable: reduce quality to a level the upload connection can sustain and test again with both streams active. YouTube advises testing the setup and selecting reliable quality.
- One or both streams show health problems: review stream health in Live Control Room, verify the encoder settings against YouTube’s guidance, and test well before the scheduled start.
- A stream key may have been exposed: replace it in YouTube Studio, then update the encoder configuration that uses it.
- The channel cannot start a live stream: check channel verification, any live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days, and the age requirement listed by YouTube Help.

Copyright and YouTube policy still apply
Using an encoder or cloud service does not change the rights requirements for the video or audio you broadcast. Use material you own or are authorized to stream, and check YouTube’s current live-stream rules before the event. A prerecorded video being presented as a live stream is still subject to YouTube’s platform policies.
