Schedule the broadcast in YouTube Studio, then use an encoder or cloud playout service to keep sending the cartoon feed: scheduling creates the event and watch page, but does not provide continuous playback. Before going live, confirm that you have written rights for continuous YouTube livestreaming, set the audience accurately, and plan for YouTube’s 12-hour archive limit.
What you need to keep a 24/7 stream running
A YouTube scheduled event and a continuous video feed are separate pieces. YouTube Studio creates the broadcast; an encoder must connect to it and send video and audio for the event to remain live. YouTube describes an encoder as software or standalone hardware that converts video into a digital format for streaming. See YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
Choose a workflow that can run continuously and that you can monitor. A software encoder on a computer and a standalone hardware encoder are both supported. For a 24/7 operation, also plan how you will detect a stopped feed, recover from network or encoder failure, and keep a local recording if you need a dependable replay. YouTube’s guidance does not guarantee uninterrupted operation or establish that one scheduled event can run forever.
Check channel eligibility and cartoon rights first
Confirm the channel can livestream
YouTube’s current live-streaming guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. YouTube also says streamers must be at least 16; its guidance sets conditions for participation by those under 16. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and getting-started guidance before scheduling.

Get permission for the actual use
Only broadcast cartoons for which you have documented rights. Ask the rights holder or authorized distributor to confirm in writing that the license covers YouTube livestreaming, continuous or repeated playout, the territories you intend to reach, and any archive you plan to retain or publish. Owning a DVD, finding an online copy, or having permission to upload a video does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it live.
YouTube identifies a copyright strike during an active stream and a match to another copyrighted live broadcast as possible triggers for livestreaming restrictions. Its live-streaming restrictions guidance and encoder instructions explain platform risks; neither grants rights to any particular cartoon or territory.
Schedule the event in YouTube Studio

In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live → Manage, then schedule a stream. Enter the title, privacy setting, scheduled start time, and other event details. YouTube’s encoder workflow covers creating and connecting an event. The LiveBroadcasts API reference describes scheduled broadcast fields, including title, scheduled start time, and privacy; it also documents recording, DVR, and automatic start/stop controls for API workflows.

Set the audience designation in Live Control Room. Decide based on who the content is directed at, not simply because it is a cartoon. If the stream is directed at children, choose Yes, it’s made for kids. Use the audience-setting instructions in YouTube’s live-streaming guidance; the relevant controls are in Live Control Room, not Classic live streaming tools.

In your encoder, enter the YouTube stream URL and stream key for the scheduled event. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the stream. Reset it if it is exposed. Follow YouTube’s encoder instructions for the current connection flow.

Start the encoder and check that video and audio appear in the Live Control Room preview. Once the feed is ready, select Go live in Live Control Room if the workflow requires it. Test that the public or unlisted watch page opens as intended, and confirm someone can monitor picture, sound, and the encoder’s connection during the run.

Set the audience accurately and understand the trade-offs
If the cartoon stream is made for kids, YouTube disables several interactive and notification features. Plan the channel page and viewer expectations accordingly.
- Live chat, chat replay, and Super Chat are disabled.
- Comments on upcoming streams and archives, and reminder notifications for upcoming streams, are disabled.
- Personalized ads are disabled, although contextual ads may appear.
Do not advertise chat, reminders, or personalized advertising as features of a made-for-kids livestream. These limitations are described in YouTube’s live-streaming audience guidance.

Plan for the 12-hour archive limit
YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours, but it warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. That is an archive limitation, not a stated maximum duration for going live. If complete replays matter, divide the operation into shorter broadcasts and keep a local recording as a backup. YouTube recommends a local archive backup in its live-stream archive guidance.

Decide in advance who will stop and restart each segment, how the next broadcast will be scheduled, and where local recordings will be stored. DVR behavior is a separate setting; consult YouTube’s DVR guidance for its effects on viewers seeking back through a live broadcast. A local recording protects against a missing platform archive, but it does not replace permission to stream or publish the cartoons.

Run an encoder yourself
A software encoder can run on a computer; standalone hardware is another supported option. The DIY approach gives you direct control over the playback setup, but the encoder, its video source, power, and network connection must remain available. A failure in any of those can interrupt the feed, so arrange monitoring and a recovery procedure before relying on it for continuous service. YouTube supports both encoder types but does not endorse a specific model or establish that one is more reliable.

Troubleshoot a scheduled cartoon stream
The event is scheduled but nothing appears
Scheduling alone does not send video. Confirm that the encoder is running, uses the event’s stream URL and key, and is sending a feed; then check the Live Control Room preview before selecting Go live.
The encoder cannot connect
Recheck the stream URL and key against the scheduled event. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update the encoder with the replacement. Confirm the encoder has network access and is actually transmitting.
The stream stops unexpectedly
Check the encoder, video source, power, and network connection, then restore the feed and verify the preview before returning to the broadcast. For a 24/7 operation, establish an on-call monitoring and recovery plan; YouTube does not promise continuous uptime.

Check whether the broadcast exceeded 12 hours. YouTube says a longer stream may not be captured at all, so use shorter segments when replays are important and retain local recordings.
The stream is restricted or claimed
Review the channel’s YouTube notifications and rights records. A copyright strike on an active livestream or a match to another copyrighted live broadcast can lead to restrictions. Resolve rights with the authorized holder; changing audience settings or using a different encoder does not clear a copyright claim.
