Schedule the show in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, then verify that the saved event displays the intended airtime in Indian Standard Time (IST) before you announce it. YouTube’s published instructions explain how to create a scheduled encoder stream, but do not establish an IST-specific selector or how time zones appear in every version of Studio—so check the event’s displayed time rather than assuming your device or account has applied IST.
1. Set the airtime in IST before opening YouTube Studio
Write the intended date and start time in IST in the programme run sheet. Include the date as well as the time, especially when sharing the schedule with listeners in other time zones. Use that run sheet as the reference when checking the event YouTube saves.
The scheduling workflow is documented, but the available YouTube instructions do not confirm a universal IST control or time-zone label across Studio versions. If Studio presents a time-zone choice, choose the one that makes the displayed event match the run sheet’s IST airtime. Do not assume that a device or account setting silently sets the event to IST.
2. Create the scheduled encoder livestream
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live to open the Live Control Room.
- Open Manage, then select Schedule stream.
- Choose whether to reuse settings from a previous show or create a new stream.
- Enter the planned date and time. Check the saved event’s displayed time against the IST run sheet before promoting it.
- Review the episode’s title, description, visibility, and other metadata, then save the event.
For a recurring Hindi radio programme, review the episode-specific details even when reusing a prior stream’s settings. The scheduled event is what listeners will use to find this broadcast, so make its details and airtime clear.

3. Share the event and invite reminders
Copy the scheduled watch-page URL and share it with listeners alongside the airtime in IST. YouTube says a scheduled stream may appear in subscribers’ feeds as upcoming; viewers can also choose Notify me near the start of the event. These features make it useful to publish the event page ahead of the broadcast, after confirming its displayed time.
4. Connect and check the encoder
- Open the scheduled event’s stream settings and copy its YouTube Live server URL and stream key into your encoder.
- Protect the stream key like a credential: YouTube uses it to accept the encoder’s feed. Do not include it in public announcements or share it with people who do not need access.
- YouTube recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours before the event and starting it at least 15 minutes before airtime. These are operational recommendations, not guarantees of a successful broadcast.
- Check the Live Control Room preview and confirm the event is reachable from the channel and watch pages, including on mobile.
- Monitor picture and sound before the scheduled start so you can catch issues while there is still time to respond.
If the programme includes music, confirm that you have the necessary rights for the repertoire and territories before broadcasting. The appropriate rights depend on the specific material and where it will be heard; do not assume that scheduling an event grants permission to stream it.

5. Keep the schedule workable
Choose a recurring airtime the production team can sustain, then tell listeners what to expect. YouTube advises creators to use a consistent, sustainable release schedule and communicate changes. If a broadcast time changes, update the event information where possible and share the revised IST time with listeners rather than relying on the earlier announcement.
