Can you schedule a YouTube playlist to play live with StreamYard? StreamYard’s documented prerecorded-streaming workflow schedules one video at a time; its instructions do not show a control for sequencing a YouTube playlist. You can schedule a single prerecorded video to start automatically, or schedule a conventional live broadcast that still requires you to enter the studio and click Go Live.
Schedule one prerecorded video to stream on YouTube
StreamYard’s Help Center describes a scheduled prerecorded broadcast as starting automatically at the time you choose and ending when the video finishes. The instructions support selecting a video file or an existing StreamYard recording—not a playlist of multiple videos. If you need a playlist sequence, the documented workflow does not establish that StreamYard can schedule one as a single broadcast.
- Prepare the video. Use a recording made in StreamYard or a video created with another recording tool. The current StreamYard Help Center specification says uploads should be .mp4 with H.264 video, a bitrate up to 10 Mbps, and up to 1080p on paid plans. Check the live Pre-recorded Streaming guide before scheduling because file requirements can change.
- Open the prerecorded workflow. From the StreamYard home page, choose Create, then Live Stream, then Pre-recorded video.
- Choose the source. Upload a video file or select a previous StreamYard broadcast or recording.
- Set the destination and details. Choose YouTube, select the broadcast date and time, and enter the title and description.
- Choose whether to create an announcement. If you schedule an announcement post, StreamYard says the YouTube link is created at the announcement time. Without an announcement, the link appears when the stream goes live. Schedule the announcement earlier if viewers need the link in advance.
- Create the broadcast. Confirm the details and create it. StreamYard says the prerecorded broadcast begins at the scheduled time and stops when the video ends.
The current StreamYard Help Center article states that prerecorded broadcasts can be scheduled up to 365 days ahead. Treat that as a product limit, not a guarantee that the same horizon or other plan limits will remain unchanged.
Prerecorded broadcast vs. scheduled studio livestream

Do not assume that scheduling an ordinary live post makes it start by itself. StreamYard’s separate YouTube Live scheduling guide describes creating the scheduled post; a person still needs to start the studio broadcast.

Current plan limits and video constraints
StreamYard’s current Help Center plan table gives the following specifications for prerecorded streaming. Plan names, limits, and included features can change, so check the live support page and your account before relying on them.

The same help page lists uploads up to 10 Mbps and says paid plans support video up to 1080p. These are StreamYard product specifications, not independent performance measurements. The cited workflow does not establish a playlist-sequencing feature or promise that separate scheduled videos will play back-to-back without interruption.

Find the scheduled broadcast and link
If you scheduled an announcement, the YouTube link is available at that scheduled announcement time. If you did not, StreamYard says the link appears when the broadcast goes live. To locate a scheduled post that is hard to find, StreamYard’s help page recommends opening the broadcast’s three-dot menu in StreamYard and choosing View on YouTube, or checking the channel’s Live tab for upcoming streams. Important limitations for creators
- It is not documented as playlist playback. The prerecorded workflow selects one video. To air several videos, the cited instructions do not show a way to queue them into one scheduled broadcast.
- Comments are not overlaid through the prerecorded studio workflow. StreamYard says comments can be viewed on the destination platform, but not shown on-stream through this workflow.
- StreamYard library saving differs from YouTube archiving. Its guide says prerecorded streams are no longer automatically saved to the StreamYard library. That does not establish whether YouTube separately saves an archive; check the YouTube broadcast and channel settings.
- Re-encoding may help with file problems. StreamYard points to HandBrake as an optional troubleshooting route if upload or playback issues occur. It is not a required purchase or a required step for every file.
Use video content you have the right to stream. A scheduled prerecorded broadcast is still a YouTube broadcast: scheduling it does not remove copyright obligations or guarantee monetization eligibility. YouTube may apply its usual content policies and enforcement to the material.

Troubleshoot common scheduling problems
- The video will not upload or play. Check that the file matches StreamYard’s current listed format and encoding requirements: .mp4, H.264 video, up to 10 Mbps, and—on paid plans—up to 1080p. If it still fails, try re-encoding with HandBrake, then upload again.
- The broadcast did not start automatically. Confirm that you chose Pre-recorded video, rather than the ordinary studio livestream workflow. The latter requires a host to enter the studio and click Go Live.
- You cannot find the YouTube event. If the announcement time has not arrived, the link may not yet be available. Otherwise use the StreamYard broadcast’s three-dot menu and View on YouTube, or look in the channel’s Live tab for upcoming streams.
- You need a longer video or more scheduled broadcasts. Compare the duration and simultaneous-scheduling limit for your current plan with the current Help Center table before changing plans or splitting the video.
