Schedule the event in YouTube Studio, verify how its start time appears in Live Control Room, and publish that time with an explicit timezone. YouTube’s current Live scheduling instructions do not establish whether the Studio time field uses your local timezone or provide a timezone selector, so do not assume viewers overseas will see the time you intend.
Choose an anchor time and label it clearly
Pick a start time that works for the host and the property’s most important audience. Write down the timezone, then convert the time for other target regions using the event date; daylight-saving changes can affect the conversion. There is no universal best hour for a property tour.
YouTube’s Live scheduling guidance does not specify the timezone basis of the current Studio field. Check the saved time in Live Control Room before promoting the event. In invitations, listing pages, email, and social posts, give the timezone beside the time—for example, “10:00 a.m. Eastern Time / 2:00 p.m. UTC,” after checking the conversion for that date.
YouTube’s separate instructions for scheduling an uploaded video ask for a date, time, and timezone and describe a Pacific Standard Time basis for the publication date of a public video. That is a different workflow and does not establish how a scheduled Live event is interpreted. For API-based scheduling, snippet.scheduledStartTime is an ISO 8601 datetime; that describes the API value, not the Studio form’s timezone selector or display behavior.

Schedule the property tour in YouTube Studio
- Open the Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, choose Create > Go Live.
- Schedule the event. Open the Manage tab and select Schedule stream. Reuse settings or create a new stream, enter the event details and visibility, then save.
- Check the displayed start time. Confirm the saved time in the current Live Control Room before announcing it. If anything is unclear, resolve it there rather than inferring the timezone from a scheduled video.
- Share the upcoming watch page. Use its URL consistently in your listing and event communications. Viewers can open the page and select Notify me to receive a reminder.
Prepare and run a steady, easy-to-follow tour
Plan the route and narration
Choose the room order and the features to point out, and plan transitions and pauses for questions. A short route plan helps avoid long, unplanned silences while you move between areas.
Test privately before the public event
Run an unlisted stream to check framing, audio, lighting, internet connection, and how the camera handles movement through the property. YouTube recommends testing audio, video, and equipment with an unlisted stream.

Choose the simplest setup that meets the production need

A tripod or phone mount can reduce shake as you walk; a microphone can improve audio. Both are optional, not prerequisites. Use equipment you already have if it gives you stable footage and intelligible narration.
Consider vertical viewers before starting
YouTube describes dual-format streaming from Live Control Room, with a center-cropped vertical stream by default and options such as fit-to-phone-width or stacked layouts. Property rooms often benefit from a wide horizontal view, so check how the vertical crop looks before relying on dual format. You cannot add the vertical layout after the stream has started.

When to start the encoder and how to end
- Set up early. YouTube recommends setting up an encoder at least two hours before the event.
- Connect ahead of the scheduled start. YouTube recommends starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the event.
- Check the preview. Confirm the picture and sound in Live Control Room before you start the public event.
- Start and monitor. Click Go live in Live Control Room when you are ready. Keep an eye on audio and video quality while walking through the property.
- End cleanly. End the stream in Live Control Room and stop sending from the encoder. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived.

Troubleshooting before viewers arrive
- The time or timezone is unclear: Check the saved event in Live Control Room, then state the timezone explicitly in every promotion. Do not use scheduled-video timezone behavior as a substitute for checking a Live event.
- The upcoming page is hard to find: Share the scheduled watch-page URL directly and use the same canonical link across listings and messages.
- The preview has no usable audio or picture: Stop and check the camera or encoder connection, microphone selection, framing, lighting, and internet connection. Re-test privately if needed.
- The tour feels shaky or narration is difficult to hear: Slow down, stabilize the phone with a tripod or mount, and check microphone placement during the unlisted test.
- Vertical viewers see an awkward room crop: Review the dual-format crop and layout before going live; the vertical layout cannot be added once the stream has started.
Keep the recording rights clear
Before streaming or looping a recording, make sure you have the rights to every video, image, music track, and other material it contains. YouTube’s copyright and reused-content rules can affect content that is not wholly yours or does not add sufficient original value. A property walkthrough should use footage and narration you are entitled to broadcast; check YouTube’s current rules and permissions for any third-party material before scheduling.
