Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. To find an event you already scheduled, go to Content > Live or open Live Control Room and select Manage. YouTube confirms that scheduled streams can be edited, but its published instructions do not specify a reliable sequence for changing an existing event’s date and time. Use the event’s editing controls in Studio, and do not assume the instructions for rescheduling an uploaded video apply to a live stream.
Schedule a YouTube live stream with an encoder
YouTube’s encoder workflow lets you create an upcoming stream, share its URL, and give viewers the chance to set a reminder. You can create a new event or reuse settings from a previous stream.
- Open YouTube Studio. At the top right, select Create, then Go live.
- Open Manage. In Live Control Room, select the Manage tab.
- Choose Schedule Stream. Select either a previous stream to reuse its settings or create a new stream.
- Review the event details. If you reused a stream, check its copied metadata and settings before proceeding. Reuse also copies the stream key, which acts as an encoder credential. Keep it private; change it if it has been exposed.
- Set the event details and schedule it. Follow the on-screen controls to create the upcoming stream. YouTube’s guide describes sharing the event URL so viewers can find it and set reminders.
For YouTube’s encoder scheduling instructions, see Schedule a live stream and its guidance on stream settings and stream keys.
Schedule a stream using a webcam
YouTube also supports scheduling a webcam stream for a later date. To find scheduled webcam streams afterward, use YouTube Studio > Content > Live. The available controls can differ from the encoder workflow, so follow the options shown for the stream type you created. See YouTube’s webcam live-streaming instructions.

Find an upcoming stream in YouTube Studio
From Studio’s Live content list
- Open YouTube Studio and select Content.
- Select the Live tab. YouTube describes this list as covering current, upcoming, and past live streams.
- Locate the event under upcoming streams and open it to view the available details and controls.
From Live Control Room
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create > Go live.
- Open Manage and select the scheduled stream.
YouTube documents scheduled-stream settings and editing controls, including an Edit option for stream settings. The exact interface may vary with the event and current Studio layout.
Reschedule a live stream: what YouTube’s instructions confirm
YouTube’s published live-stream help confirms where to find a scheduled stream and that its settings can be edited. The reviewed instructions do not give an explicit, current button-by-button sequence for changing an already scheduled live event’s date and time. Open the event in Studio or Live Control Room and inspect its editing options; do not rely on an unverified path or assume every event has the same controls.

If you cannot find a date or time control, check the event’s available settings and YouTube’s current on-screen help. The YouTube Live Streaming API documentation says that when an API property cannot be updated, a new stream can be created with the required settings. That is API guidance, not a general instruction that every creator must delete and recreate an event to change its time.
Do not follow YouTube’s instructions for scheduling an uploaded video’s publish time as if they were live-event rescheduling steps. That workflow concerns uploaded videos, not scheduled live streams.

What viewers see when a stream is scheduled
A scheduled stream may appear to viewers as upcoming, including in the subscribers feed. Viewers can select Notify me; YouTube says they may receive a notification as the stream approaches. The event URL can also be shared before the broadcast so viewers can find the watch page in advance.
Troubleshooting schedule and edit problems
- The event is missing: Check Studio > Content > Live, including the upcoming list, or open Live Control Room and select Manage. Make sure you are in the channel that created the event.
- You cannot find a date or time edit control: YouTube’s published help does not document a definitive date/time edit path. Open the scheduled event’s settings and inspect the controls currently shown; do not use the uploaded-video scheduling workflow as a substitute.
- You reused a previous stream and the details are wrong: Review the copied metadata, settings, and stream key. YouTube allows stream settings to be edited, but keep the key confidential because it is an encoder credential.
- The Android app will not let you edit a scheduled mobile stream: TeamYouTube reported that a particular Android editing issue was fixed on September 10, 2026. If you still encounter it, update the app and try again; this dated report does not establish a general restriction on editing scheduled streams. See the TeamYouTube community post.
Or let it run in the cloud
Scheduling an event in YouTube Studio does not itself keep a prerecorded broadcast running continuously. If your goal is a 24/7 YouTube channel playing uploaded videos, StreamNeo is a separate option: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Its cloud service keeps looping the uploaded video, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on.
