To schedule morning and evening music during one continuous YouTube livestream, schedule the broadcast in YouTube Studio, then use a separate playback or automation system to switch playlists at the right times. YouTube Studio schedules the live event; its documented workflow does not provide a control for switching playlists within that broadcast.
Separate the broadcast schedule from the playlist schedule
There are two schedules to manage. YouTube Studio creates and schedules the live event, giving it a watch page and a planned start time. A playback or automation layer chooses which audio and video feed the encoder sends at each time of day. Scheduling a broadcast does not by itself cue a morning playlist or an evening playlist.
For a round-the-clock Hindi music station, the usual design is one continuous feed with time-based playlist changes. If you want distinct event pages instead, create separate scheduled broadcasts for the morning and evening shows. Those are separate events, not playlist handoffs inside one continuous broadcast. YouTube describes both scheduled broadcasts and a 24/7 feed in its Live Streaming API documentation.
Set up the continuous stream
1. Choose the station schedule and time zone
Write down the exact morning and evening handoff times and the time zone that governs them. This matters if the audience is in India but the operator, playback computer, or hosted service is elsewhere. Decide whether playlists change abruptly or include a station ident or other transition, and choose fallback content in case a playlist ends or fails to load.

2. Schedule the live event in YouTube Studio
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live.
- Open Manage, then choose Schedule Stream. Reuse settings from a previous stream or create a new one.
- Set the title, description, visibility, thumbnail, and intended start time. Make the Hindi music format and continuous nature clear in the metadata.
- Share the scheduled watch-page URL if you want viewers to find the event and set reminders. YouTube says scheduling lets you promote the stream.
3. Connect an encoder to YouTube
In the encoder or streaming software, enter the YouTube server URL (also called the stream URL) and the stream key shown for the event. Keep the key private: someone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your channel. Once YouTube receives the feed, wait for the preview in Live Control Room and select Go live when you are ready. The exact workflow can vary if you configure automatic transitions through the API.
For API-managed setups, YouTube treats the broadcast (liveBroadcast) and incoming feed (liveStream) as distinct resources. The broadcast is bound to a stream; reusing stream settings does not supply or switch the media. The API can manage broadcast states, but your playback system still has to provide the video and audio. See Google’s broadcast and stream API guide for the resource model and workflow.
4. Configure the playlist handoffs in a separate system
Choose playback or automation software that can select media by time and keep the outgoing feed running during transitions. Configure the morning and evening playlists, the station time zone, handoff times, transition behavior, fallback content, and a way to detect stalled playback or a lost encoder feed. YouTube’s Studio documentation does not establish a native time-of-day playlist scheduler or endorse a particular third-party scheduler, so confirm that the selected system supports the exact handoff behavior you need.

Before launch, run a private or otherwise non-public test that crosses at least one scheduled change. Check both the audio and visual feed in YouTube’s preview: confirm that the expected playlist begins at the intended local time and that the stream does not stop, freeze, or expose an unintended desktop or blank screen during the switch.

For an API-based test, YouTube’s guide describes using a monitor stream and checking that the stream status is active, which indicates that YouTube is receiving data, before transitioning the broadcast to live. A transition may take several seconds and, according to the guide, sometimes up to a minute. The API also supports automatic start and stop; automatic stop ends the broadcast about a minute after transmission ends. Do not enable automatic stop if your intention is to keep one feed live continuously and the encoder may briefly stop during a handoff.
In the standard Studio workflow, wait for the scheduled stream’s preview, then click Go live. Keep an operator or an alerting procedure available for the initial launch and playlist changes, especially until the handoffs have been tested reliably.

Choose how to keep the feed running
The playlist scheduler and the system that sends the feed to YouTube are related but separate choices. This table compares the roles and trade-offs; it does not rank third-party products or establish prices or uptime.

Clear music rights before going live
You are responsible for having the rights needed to use the music and other content in a livestream. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions require providers to have necessary rights for the live content, including music rights.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it identifies such content, it may replace the stream with a placeholder; if the content remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. Even with a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its allowlist through Content ID. YouTube explains this in its live-streaming copyright guidance.

Keep a rights record for every track and visual. Verify that permissions cover live streaming, the relevant territories, the license term, and archived playback. Do not assume that music being available online, described as “free,” or cleared for ordinary videos is also cleared for a continuous livestream.

YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A continuous 24/7 broadcast exceeds that stated range, so do not assume that YouTube will provide one complete replay of the entire stream. Check current YouTube behavior and decide whether you need a separate recording or archive process.
