The videos then play from the provider’s cloud instead of from a computer that must stay on. Before choosing a service, confirm that your account and plan can run the number of independent outputs you need: the available provider documentation does not establish a definitive concurrent-channel limit.
Plan one independent output for each YouTube channel
Treat each channel as its own stream. Make a short setup sheet for every output so schedules and credentials do not get crossed:
- YouTube channel and intended destination.
- Videos or other content to play, in the intended order.
- Start time, time zone, recurrence, and—if looping—an end date.
- Output resolution and frame rate.
- Who will check stream health and renew or replace an expiring schedule.
A provider may let one account connect multiple destinations, but that does not by itself prove it can run multiple independent, continuous playouts at once. Ask the provider to confirm the account-level concurrent output limit and any channel, storage, or plan restrictions for your specific setup.

For a prerecorded channel that must repeat continuously, choose a cloud playout workflow with an explicit loop or always-on mode rather than assuming that a scheduled event or finite playlist will keep itself running indefinitely.

Set up separate cloud schedules
1. Confirm capacity and requirements
Give the provider the number of YouTube channels, desired start times, content duration, resolution and frame rate, and whether each channel needs a repeating loop or a finite schedule. Get confirmation of concurrent outputs, destination limits, loop duration, storage, and plan availability before uploading or paying. Limits and plan features can change.
2. Create a playout for each channel
In Castr’s documented example, first create a Livestream, then create a TV Playout. Choose Schedule for consecutive scheduled content or Loop for repeated programming. Set the output frame rate and resolution during creation; those initial settings cannot be changed later. Upload the media, add it to the timetable, choose the destination, set the start time, and apply the schedule.

Repeat the setup for each channel, checking the destination before applying each schedule. Castr’s loop mode requires an end date, and the maximum duration depends on the plan. Set a reminder to extend or replace the schedule before that date; do not treat a loop as permanent unless the provider confirms its duration and renewal behavior.
3. Connect the matching YouTube destination
Add the correct YouTube channel as the destination for each playout. Castr documents connecting destinations through account linking or platform server and stream-key details. Keep each channel’s key paired with its own output and store it securely. If you use YouTube’s native encoder workflow instead, schedule a live event in Live Control Room, enter the stream URL and key in the encoder, start sending the feed, check the preview, and click Go live. That is an encoder-originated live stream, not the same operating model as cloud playout from uploaded files.

4. Check YouTube event details and privacy
For every destination, verify the YouTube channel, event title, visibility, thumbnail, scheduled start time and time zone. Check privacy rather than assuming an event is public: YouTube’s default privacy setting differs by age group. A scheduled event appearing on the channel page confirms the event was created, not that continuous playback is healthy.
5. Test each channel independently
Before relying on unattended operation, test every output from its intended destination. Confirm picture, audio, sequence, start time, and stream health. If the provider offers monitoring, alerts, or failover, confirm that the features are included in your plan and test the recovery path rather than assuming it will work.

Keep multiple channels reliable
- Label everything clearly. Use a consistent channel name in the playout, media folders, and schedule notes.
- Check loop expiry. A loop with a required end date can stop when that date arrives. Assign an owner and reminder to renew or replace it.
- Watch for gaps between finite playlists. Restream documents a two-minute buffer between back-to-back playlists, which are separate streams.
- Review edits and on-air restrictions. Some playlist tools do not allow changing content or order once live. Establish the replacement process before launch.
- Verify recovery behavior. Ask whether monitoring, alerts, or backup-file and encoder failover are available on your plan, and simulate a failure before relying on them.
- Keep content rights in order. Only stream videos and music you have rights to use. Repeated or scheduled playback does not remove copyright obligations or guarantee that YouTube will treat a channel as eligible for monetization; review YouTube’s current policies for your content and channel.
Troubleshoot common setup failures
