If PRISM lets you set a manual or maximum bitrate, use 4,000 kbps as a quality-oriented reference for 720p. Move to 1080p at 30 fps and 6,000 kbps only if your upload connection and phone handle the stream steadily. These are PRISM’s general recommendations—not an India-specific preset or a guarantee of what viewers will receive.
Choose settings that balance picture quality and stability
Resolution and bitrate affect detail and the upload capacity a stream needs; frame rate affects motion smoothness and the phone’s encoding workload. Higher settings can look better when the connection and device can sustain them, but may make an unstable stream less reliable. PRISM recommends leaving ABP on for novice streamers and says it adapts to network conditions; that can help transmission as bandwidth changes, but picture quality may drop and a weak connection can still cause poor results. PRISM’s adaptive-bitrate guidance describes the relevant quality controls as resolution, bitrate, frame rate, and ABP.
PRISM’s mobile guidance gives these general figures. They are product recommendations, not measurements of Indian mobile networks.

PRISM’s FAQ also recommends a keyframe interval of 1–2 seconds. If PRISM exposes that control, use that documented range rather than guessing. PRISM’s published figures are not a guarantee that a particular phone or carrier can sustain the stream.

Set up a mobile YouTube stream
PRISM’s setup overview describes a flow in which you choose a mode, tap Ready, fill in and save the required information in the live-stream summary, then tap Go Live. The exact location and wording of quality controls can vary by app version, so check the current controls in your installed app rather than relying on an unverified screen path. PRISM’s official mobile support pages cover its setup guidance.
- Choose the PRISM mobile streaming mode you intend to use and open its live-stream setup.
- Before going live, find the available video-quality or encoding controls. Check resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and whether ABP is enabled.
- For a first stream on variable mobile upload, select 720p and 30 fps, turn ABP on, and—if a manual or maximum bitrate is available—use 4,000 kbps as PRISM’s quality-oriented 720p reference.
- Tap Ready, review the live-stream summary, enter and save the required stream information, and start with Go Live.
- Watch for instability, dropped frames, or signs that the phone is struggling. Change one setting at a time; if needed, step down from 1080p to 720p, then lower the frame rate or resolution further.
For 1080p, PRISM’s quality-oriented reference is 6,000 kbps. Try 1080p at 30 fps only after a stable 720p stream and only if the phone remains comfortable during encoding. PRISM warns that higher resolution and frame rate put more strain on phones; its FAQ also notes that long, high-resolution broadcasts can cause heating.

When to lower quality
If the stream becomes unstable, PRISM advises reducing resolution and frame rate gradually. Its mobile stability guidance says to have more network bandwidth available than the stream’s selected needs and recommends at least twice the specified bandwidth for higher-quality streaming. Treat that as PRISM’s guidance, not a reading of Indian carrier performance.
PRISM lists the following estimated bandwidth ranges when ABP is off. The page gives two ranges for 1080p and 720p; it does not establish which one applies to every setup, so do not treat either as a guaranteed threshold.

ABP is a useful starting point when bandwidth changes, but it cannot create upload capacity that is not available. With ABP on, the transmitted bitrate may adjust and the picture can lose quality; if the network is very weak, viewers may still see a poor stream. With ABP off, the listed bandwidth estimates are not a promise of stability—allow headroom and lower the setting when the connection cannot sustain it.
What the setting means for viewers in India
There is no single PRISM setting established as optimal for India: the official figures are general app guidance, not Indian-carrier tests, upload-speed distributions, or viewer data-use measurements. Tune against the actual upload connection you will use and consider that some viewers may be watching on mobile data. A creator’s chosen output setting also does not mean every YouTube viewer will receive that exact resolution; the available evidence here does not establish current YouTube viewer-side quality controls or behavior.

Create a video playlist—and distinguish it from a loop
PRISM’s mobile guide documents video playlists in My Studio. It does not document an automatic repeat mode, a loop toggle, or what happens when playback reaches the end. A playlist is therefore not proof that a video will repeat continuously; do not assume a loop setting exists without checking the current app or a current official instruction.
- Open Playlist in My Studio.
- Create a Video playlist and select the videos to include.
- Create the playlist, then adjust the order or seek to a particular position as needed.
- Select the saved playlist for use in the live stream. PRISM says saved playlists remain in My Studio for reuse.
PRISM says video or music playback can be mixed into a live stream and describes muting the microphone when only playback audio should be included. Its guide also says that music, video, music playlist, video playlist, and image playlist playback cannot be combined with one another: only one of those play features can be used at a time in the listed mobile modes. Plan your stream accordingly.

Troubleshoot common quality problems
- The stream becomes unstable as mobile bandwidth changes: Keep ABP on. If the problem continues, reduce resolution gradually, then reduce frame rate. PRISM says 720p is typically more stable than 1080p under similar conditions.
- The picture looks soft or bitrate falls: ABP may be responding to reduced bandwidth. If the connection is consistently stable and the phone handles encoding, try the next resolution or bitrate step; return to the lower setting if instability appears.
- The phone heats up or struggles during a long stream: Reduce resolution or frame rate. PRISM cautions that higher resolution and frame rate strain phones and that long high-resolution broadcasts can cause heating.
- You cannot find a repeat or loop control: PRISM’s playlist instructions do not establish that such a control exists. Do not mistake creating a playlist for enabling automatic replay.
- Playlist playback conflicts with another media feature: PRISM documents only one of its listed play features at a time in the covered mobile modes. Remove the other playback feature from the plan.
