To run Bengali bhajans continuously on YouTube, enable live streaming on your channel, clear the rights to every recording and composition, then send a prepared playlist through an encoder connected to YouTube’s Live Control Room. For a do-it-yourself setup, the encoder and internet connection must stay available, and someone needs to monitor playback and restore the feed if it fails. YouTube does not establish an indefinite-stream guarantee.
Prepare your channel before launch
Check YouTube’s current eligibility rules before announcing a start time. YouTube’s guidance says the channel must be verified, must have had no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and the person livestreaming must be at least 16. First-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well in advance. Requirements and Studio workflows can change; confirm them in YouTube’s current live-streaming guidance.
YouTube supports webcam, mobile, console and encoder workflows. For a preassembled playlist of devotional audio and visuals, an encoder is the practical route: it can send the prepared feed to YouTube. An encoder may be software running on a computer or a standalone hardware device; a dedicated hardware encoder is not required for every setup.
Clear the music rights first
A bhajan’s devotional, old or traditional subject does not prove that a particular recording is free to livestream. A sound recording can have rights separate from the underlying composition. Obtain permission for the specific recordings and compositions in your playlist, covering both the live broadcast and any replay or archive use.

If a rights holder licenses the material but uses Content ID, ask them to allowlist your channel. YouTube warns that a live stream can still be interrupted when licensed material is matched if the channel has not been allowlisted. Its systems scan live streams for third-party content, including other broadcasts. A match can replace the picture with a placeholder; if the matched content continues, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. A copyright or Community Guidelines strike can also end a stream, and an archived stream may receive a Content ID claim after it ends. Making a stream unlisted or private is not an established way to avoid these checks. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
Create the YouTube broadcast and connect an encoder
- Open Live Control Room: In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live. Create the stream there, or schedule it from the Manage tab if you want a watch page people can find in advance.
- Copy the connection details: In the stream’s Stream settings, copy the YouTube stream URL/server and stream key into the matching fields in your encoder. Treat the stream key like a password: do not put it in the description, share it publicly, or show it in your visuals. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Configure the feed: Select the rights-cleared bhajan playlist as the encoder’s audio/video source and choose the artwork or other visuals you have permission to use. YouTube’s connection guide explains the encoder workflow but does not prescribe a Bengali devotional playlist setup.
- Start and preview: Start sending the feed from the encoder. Wait for the preview in Live Control Room; check that the picture and sound are correct, then confirm playback on the public watch page and on a mobile device.
- Go live and end deliberately: For a scheduled stream, start the encoder, verify its preview, then use Live Control Room to confirm and go live. To finish, end the stream in Studio and stop sending content from the encoder. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup guide for the current interface.
Choose a production setup you can maintain
| Setup | What it suits | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|
| Software encoder on a computer | A lower-cost start when you already have a suitable computer and can leave it running. | The computer, encoder and network connection must remain available. You are responsible for monitoring and restoring the feed. |
| Dedicated hardware encoder | An operator who wants a standalone encoding device or is producing a higher-production event. | It is an optional purchase, not a YouTube requirement. Check compatibility and actual listings before buying; simple playlist visuals may not justify professional hardware. |
YouTube says expensive equipment is not necessary to begin and supports both software and hardware encoders. OBS is one software option; its help portal points to x264 encoding guidance. No single resolution, bitrate, keyframe interval or machine specification is established here for your particular playlist, encoder and internet connection. Avoid copying settings blindly: use the current YouTube ingest recommendations and your encoder’s documentation, then test the actual feed before relying on it.

Plan for continuity, monitoring and recovery
“24/7” is an operating target, not a guarantee of one uninterrupted YouTube session. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; its guidance does not establish that a continuous 24-hour session will be archived as one replay, or that an indefinite session is guaranteed. Decide how you will handle interruptions and replays rather than assuming YouTube will keep the feed running indefinitely.
YouTube recommends configuring encoders ahead of time, starting them before an event, checking the preview, testing failover by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable, checking that local archive files are growing, confirming watch-page and mobile access, and continuously monitoring audio and video quality. For a continuous playlist, turn those practices into a shift handoff:
