You can run a continuous Hindu bhajan channel on YouTube by sending a rights-cleared recording or playlist through an encoder—or by using a cloud service that loops uploaded videos. Before going live, verify that your channel is eligible, clear the music and visual rights, decide how you will recover from interruptions, and plan separately for archiving: YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all.
What you need before starting
- A verified YouTube channel with no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. YouTube also requires the operator to meet its age requirements. See YouTube Help, Get started with live streaming.
- A playlist or recording you have the right to broadcast, plus permission for any artwork or other third-party material included in the stream.
- A way to send the stream to YouTube: an encoder running on a computer, or a cloud service that streams uploaded videos.
- An archive plan if viewers need to replay the broadcast after it ends.
Being able to play a bhajan online does not mean you have permission to rebroadcast it. YouTube’s livestream terms make the provider responsible for securing necessary rights.
Clear the music and visuals before scheduling
Get written confirmation from the rights holder that your permission covers YouTube livestreaming, the territories where you intend to make the channel available, and the planned duration. Ask whether it also covers saved archives or replays and monetized streaming, if those matter to your plan. Check the rights for the accompanying artwork, photographs, lyrics, and other third-party material as well.
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can trigger a warning, a placeholder image, an interruption, or termination. A license does not necessarily prevent a Content ID interruption: if the rights holder uses Content ID, ask whether they need to add your channel to an allowlist before you broadcast. Copyright permission and monetization eligibility are separate questions. YouTube applies originality and reused-content rules to live content. A collection of other people’s songs, or repetitive material with little original contribution, may fail monetization review even if you have permission to use the recordings. Creator Music licensing and revenue-sharing guidance is for long-form videos, not livestreams.
Set up the YouTube livestream with an encoder
- Confirm eligibility. Verify the channel and check that it has no live-streaming restriction within YouTube’s stated 90-day window. YouTube lists these requirements in Get started with live streaming.
- Prepare the program. Arrange your cleared recordings into the intended playlist or recording sequence. Check that every track and visual asset is covered by your permissions, including anything that will appear in a saved replay.
- Create or schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio. Set the title, description, and visibility. Choose the stream key and stream URL shown for the event, and configure auto-start, auto-stop, and DVR to fit the way you intend to operate the broadcast. Keep the stream key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your stream.
- Connect the encoder. Enter the YouTube stream URL and key in the encoder, then configure its output to match the current settings supported by your YouTube workflow. Resolution, bitrate, and keyframe interval depend on the chosen output and encoder; do not assume a single preset is suitable for every setup.
- Run a short, rights-cleared test. Check the sound level, visuals, stream health, internet stability, restart behavior, and local recording before you announce the continuous channel. A private test is not a substitute for clearing the content used in it.
- Choose an archive approach. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If a complete replay matters, retain a local recording and consider shorter scheduled sessions rather than relying on one uninterrupted day-long broadcast.
- Monitor the live dashboard. Watch for stream-health notices, copyright warnings, and requests for action. YouTube may interrupt or end a stream when it identifies third-party material.
Choose between one long stream and shorter sessions

Make the channel’s original contribution clear
If monetization is a goal, build more than a loop of recordings and a static image. Original performances, commissioned recordings with clear rights, host commentary, devotional context, or thoughtful program curation can make the channel’s creative contribution more apparent. These elements do not guarantee approval: YouTube makes its own originality and reused-content assessment, and copyright clearance alone does not settle that review.
Do not count on ads appearing on every stream. YouTube describes live ads and eligible fan-funding features, but says ad slots are not guaranteed. Review the rules that apply to your channel and content before treating livestream revenue as predictable.
