To run meditation music on YouTube around the clock, verify that your channel can livestream, prepare music and visuals you have rights to use, and send a looping feed to YouTube through an encoder or a cloud streaming service. A local encoder depends on a computer, power and a stable internet connection; a cloud service can remove the home computer from that chain. Either way, plan for dropped connections, Content ID checks and YouTube’s warning that a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured as a replay.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified, at least 16 years old for livestreaming, and free of a live-streaming restriction from the preceding 90 days. Enabling livestreaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours, so do this before announcing a launch. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance has the current requirements.
- Music and visuals cleared for a YouTube livestream, any replay you plan to keep, the territories you intend to reach and your monetization plans.
- A source that can send the stream continuously: a computer running an encoder, or a cloud host that accepts uploaded videos and streams them for you.
- A reliable upload connection and a plan for monitoring, recovery and recording if you need a replay.
Choose how to keep the stream running
Local encoder: control at home, with local dependencies
YouTube’s encoder workflow lets software or hardware send audio and video to Live Control Room. With a local computer, that computer, its power and its internet connection must remain operational for the stream to continue. You are responsible for configuring the encoder, preventing sleep or restart interruptions, monitoring the feed and recovering from disruptions.
Cloud hosting: less dependence on your home setup
A hosted encoder can run the feed without your personal computer staying on, but it introduces a service cost and a dependency on that provider. Check the provider’s current features, pricing, stream-key handling, monitoring and recovery arrangements before relying on it; no service should be assumed to guarantee uninterrupted streaming.
StreamNeo is #1 among the options here for hands-off continuous streaming: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud to YouTube, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and gives a first day free. It is for uploaded video playback, not a live camera feed.

Clear the music and visual rights before going live
Use music you composed or commissioned, or obtain a license that explicitly covers the livestream, the intended territories, any archive and your monetization plans. Do not assume that “royalty-free” wording, buying a download, having a streaming subscription or adding a credit line grants those rights. YouTube’s livestream terms require creators to have the necessary rights to exploit their live content, including music rights from artists, labels, publishers and other participants.
YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party matches. If it detects protected content, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you; continued use can interrupt or terminate the broadcast. Even when you have a license, ask the rights holder or licensor whether your channel must be added to its Content ID allowlist before launch. YouTube explains the process in its Content ID guidance for live streams.

Apply the same standard to the visual: use original artwork or material licensed for the same uses. A static image, original scene or subtle animation can suit the format; YouTube does not require a particular animation style or resolution for meditation music.
Create a YouTube live event and connect the encoder
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live. Create a stream from the Stream tab, or use Manage to schedule one. The encoder route is intended for external audio/video and more advanced production. See YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
- Set the public details. Add the title, description, thumbnail, visibility and chat settings in Live Control Room. If you schedule the event, it may appear in subscribers’ feeds and viewers can request a reminder; scheduling does not replace connecting and starting your encoder. Details are in YouTube’s live stream management guidance.
- Copy the stream URL and key. In Live Control Room, copy the server URL and stream key into the encoder’s destination settings. The key is a credential that lets YouTube accept the encoder’s feed. Keep it private; if it is exposed, reset it in Studio. YouTube’s encoder setup guide describes the connection workflow.
- Configure and preview the feed. Set the encoder’s audio and video source to your prepared loop, then start the encoder and wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Confirm the right audio, image, title and stream are present before making the event public or relying on it continuously.
- Start the broadcast. Use the Live Control Room controls to go live once the preview is correct. Keep the stream key private and store it only in the encoder or service that needs it.
Prepare and test the loop
Build the audio and visual loop so its transition is unobtrusive. Listen for clicks, gaps, clipping, unintended silence and abrupt level changes; watch for a black frame or jarring visual reset. These are production checks, not special YouTube format requirements. Test the exact loop you intend to broadcast before launch, including a full cycle if it is long enough to have transition problems.

Plan bandwidth, power and recovery
YouTube recommends upload capacity with 20% headroom above the stream bitrate. For example, a feed using 5 Mbps needs at least 6 Mbps of available sustained upload capacity under that recommendation. If you run primary and backup streams, account for both streams plus the headroom. Shared Wi-Fi traffic can consume capacity, and an internet disruption can interrupt the broadcast. See YouTube’s network and encoder troubleshooting guidance.
- Prefer a stable wired connection where practical, and test sustained upload performance while the household or workplace is using its normal internet.
- Prevent the local computer from sleeping or restarting unexpectedly; plan for operating-system updates and encoder failures.
- Consider a separate backup connection or failover setup if your budget and encoder support it. Test the switch before depending on it.
- A UPS can keep local equipment powered through a brief outage, but it cannot keep an ISP connection or YouTube online.
- Monitor the stream and alerts regularly. YouTube’s setup checklist advises configuring the encoder at least two hours ahead, starting it at least 15 minutes before a scheduled broadcast, checking the Live Control Room preview, testing backup failover, checking the watch page on a phone, confirming a local archive file grows and monitoring audio/video quality. Adapt those checks to your ongoing operation and test recovery before relying on it.
Know what YouTube will archive
YouTube automatically archives streams shorter than 12 hours. Its archive guidance warns: “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” A single continuous 24/7 event therefore may not produce a replay. If an archive matters, record locally and verify available storage, or plan shorter sessions and check that each session’s archive is available. Shorter sessions require a handoff or restart, so tell viewers if the stream will pause. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

Being in the YouTube Partner Program can make live-stream monetization possible, but simply leaving a stream running does not guarantee eligibility or ad serving. YouTube’s channel monetization policies apply to livestreams and may exclude repetitive or mass-produced material. Original music, meaningful creative variation and a channel that makes your authorship and value clear are safer foundations than assuming a static image and endlessly repeated track will qualify.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a song from a streaming subscription in my YouTube livestream?
A subscription does not by itself grant livestream, archive or monetization rights. Use music with a license that covers those uses.
Does a 24/7 stream guarantee a replay?
No. YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all.
