To keep a YouTube bhajan livestream running without leaving a computer on at home, use a cloud-hosted service that loops prerecorded video and sends it to YouTube. Prepare rights-cleared bhajan media, make sure your channel is eligible for live streaming, connect the service to YouTube, then preview and test the stream before sharing it.
What you need before starting
- An eligible YouTube channel. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned launch. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance explains the requirements.
- Rights-cleared audio and visuals. Use recordings, performances, compositions, artwork, and video that you own or have permission to broadcast and replay. The fact that a song is a bhajan or devotional does not establish rights to a particular recording, arrangement, performance, or image. YouTube livestreams must comply with its Community Guidelines and Terms.
- A cloud host for prerecorded video. The host must accept your media and send it to YouTube continuously without depending on your home computer. YouTube’s encoder guide lists cloud services for 24/7 prerecorded-video streams, including Gyre. Listings are not independent reliability tests, so compare the provider’s current terms and controls.
Set up the DIY cloud-streaming workflow
- Enable live streaming on YouTube. Sign in to the channel, open YouTube Studio, select Create and then Go live, and complete any verification or activation prompts. If this is your first livestream, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
- Prepare your bhajan playlist. Select the videos and order you want the channel to play. Confirm you have permission for each recording and every visual element, including any images embedded in the video. Check that the files play correctly and that their audio levels are usable before uploading them to the host.
- Choose a cloud service that supports your schedule. Check how it accepts files, whether it can loop or schedule prerecorded assets, how long a continuous broadcast can run, how it handles YouTube credentials, and what monitoring and recovery controls it provides. For example, OneStream Live’s help documentation says its 24/7 feature requires an Enterprise plan and has a maximum duration of 30 days; that is a provider-specific limit, not a YouTube-wide rule. Check OneStream Live’s current 24/7 feature documentation before planning around it.
- Create or select a YouTube stream. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create or select the stream you intend the host to use. For an encoder-based connection, YouTube provides a server URL and stream key; enter them in the cloud host’s corresponding fields. Treat the stream key like a password: do not post it, include it in a public screenshot, or share it with anyone who does not need access.
- Connect the host and configure the broadcast. Follow that provider’s current instructions to connect or authorize your channel, add the prerecorded files, arrange the loop or playlist, and set the stream title, description, visibility, and schedule. Confirm that the selected YouTube stream and host configuration match.
- Preview and test before announcing the link. Start a test or scheduled broadcast and check the YouTube Live Control Room preview and stream-health indicators. Verify that both sound and picture arrive, the correct playlist is playing, and the stream appears on the intended channel. Arrange a way to monitor alerts and respond if the provider or YouTube connection stops; no cited listing establishes a guarantee of uninterrupted operation.
Choose the right streaming approach
For the specific goal of keeping a prerecorded bhajan stream online without a home PC, a cloud host is the direct fit. YouTube’s encoder directory also lists other products, but their descriptions are not comparative reliability or price testing.

Plan the stream and its archive
Use one continuous stream or scheduled sessions?
A provider’s maximum run duration is not the same as a YouTube rule. For instance, OneStream Live’s stated 30-day limit applies to its own 24/7 feature. Check your chosen host’s current duration and scheduling terms before setting up a long-running loop.
Do not assume a complete 24/7 replay will be archived
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not promise an archive of an uninterrupted 24/7 event. If a replay matters, plan separate shorter scheduled events or keep separate recordings of the material.

Adding a special broadcast over a continuous feed
For an advanced setup, Google’s Live Streaming API documentation describes using the same stream resource for a persistent 24/7 feed and a separate simultaneous broadcast. This can accommodate a special event while the devotional feed continues, but it is not required for a basic playlist stream. See the YouTube Live Streaming API documentation for the API workflow.
Troubleshoot common setup problems
- Go Live is unavailable: Check that the channel is verified and has no live-stream restriction from the preceding 90 days. If live streaming was just enabled for the first time, activation may take up to 24 hours.
- The host cannot connect: Recheck the server URL and stream key against the values for the selected YouTube stream. Make sure the key has not been mistyped or replaced, and keep it private. If you regenerate a key, update the host with the new one.
- The stream is connected but shows no picture or sound: Confirm the correct file and playlist are selected in the host, then inspect the YouTube Live Control Room preview. Test the media files themselves and confirm the host is sending the intended stream.
- The stream stops before the planned end: Check the host’s continuous-duration limit and account plan, then review its alerts and recovery settings. A 30-day limit documented for OneStream Live, for example, should not be mistaken for an unlimited broadcast or a YouTube-wide rule.
- The stream has no usable replay: YouTube’s automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours; it does not promise a complete archive for a 24/7 event. Use shorter events or separate recordings if you need a replay.
- A rights or policy issue appears: Review the specific audio, composition, performance, recording, and visuals used, and make sure you have the necessary permissions. A devotional subject alone does not establish broadcast rights.
