Set up and test the stream first, confirm you have permission to broadcast every recording, and plan around YouTube’s archive limit: streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured.
Before you set up the stream
Check that your channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel to enable live streaming, and the channel must not have had live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. Enable live streaming ahead of your planned start rather than leaving this check until broadcast time. YouTube supports streaming through an encoder such as OBS.
Choose your audio and visual
For a prepared bhajan stream, make an OBS scene with the audio files you are authorized to use and a suitable still image or other authorized visual. If you are singing or playing live, use an appropriate microphone or audio interface as your source instead; neither is required for a playlist of prepared files. Telugu language or devotional subject matter does not create a special YouTube setting.
Confirm music permissions
Check rights for both the musical work and the particular recording or arrangement. A traditional or devotional song is not automatically free to rebroadcast in every recording. YouTube scans live audio and video for third-party matches; a match may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. If you have a license, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license by itself does not guarantee that YouTube will let the live stream continue without interruption.

YouTube for Artists advises creators using copyright-protected music to coordinate with their label or distributor. Confirm that your permission covers the relevant territories, monetization, archived video, and live streaming. The rights status of any particular Telugu bhajan or recording must be checked with its rights holders.
Create the YouTube Live event and connect OBS
- Create or schedule the event. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Choose a title, visibility, and audience settings appropriate for your channel. The available guidance does not establish special settings for Telugu bhajans.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In OBS, open Settings > Stream and select YouTube or the available YouTube integration if offered. Otherwise, enter the server URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room. Use RTMPS where available; YouTube recommends it. Treat the key like a password: do not show it in a scene, recording, or public post, and reset it if it is exposed.
- Build and check the scene. Add your authorized visual and audio source to an OBS scene. Check that the audio is audible and not clipping, and that the visual is the one you intend to broadcast. If you use a media playlist, confirm that it repeats as intended and that transitions do not leave the stream silent or blank.
- Set the video and output. In OBS, use a stable resolution and frame rate supported by your source and connection. In Settings > Output, set the encoder to constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval. YouTube’s guidance says not to exceed four seconds. Select a supported codec: H.264, H.265, or AV1. Exact OBS labels can vary with version and encoder.
- Start OBS and verify the preview. Start streaming from OBS and wait for the event preview in Live Control Room. Confirm picture, audio, and stream health before using the Control Room’s Go live control for a scheduled workflow. Test the complete path before the intended broadcast rather than relying on a last-minute check.
Choose a bitrate your connection can sustain
YouTube’s published H.264 examples include these video bitrates. They are ingestion specifications, not a promise of what viewers will see or a guarantee that your connection will remain stable.

Choose a setting based on sustained upload capacity, not a brief speed-test peak. YouTube recommends keeping 20% spare upload bandwidth. For example, an 8 Mbps video bitrate calls for at least 10 Mbps of sustained upload capacity before accounting for other devices or traffic. If the connection varies, use a lower bitrate or resolution and test for a long enough period to expose drops.
For a still devotional visual, 720p can reduce the bandwidth demand; 1080p can make artwork and on-screen text sharper. The better choice is the highest setting your connection can maintain with headroom, rather than the highest setting OBS permits.

Plan for the meaning of “24/7”
A long session is not the same as a reliable archive
YouTube automatically archives streams shorter than 12 hours. A stream lasting longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If retaining a complete archive matters, do not rely on one uninterrupted 24-hour YouTube session: plan periodic stream sessions and/or make a local recording. The available guidance does not establish a universally recommended restart schedule.
Plan for interruptions
A 24/7 stream depends on OBS, the computer, power, internet service, and YouTube’s ingest connection continuing to work. YouTube can also interrupt a live stream because of a detected rights match. Test your setup and decide how you will notice and respond if the stream stops; the steps above do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.

Common problems and fixes
- Live streaming is unavailable: Check channel verification, whether live streaming has been enabled, and whether the channel has had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days.
- YouTube receives no signal: Confirm the correct event, server URL, and stream key are in OBS. Check that OBS has actually started streaming and that Live Control Room is showing the expected preview. Replace a key if it may have been exposed.
- Buffering, dropped frames, or an unstable feed: Test sustained upload capacity, leave YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom, and lower resolution or bitrate if necessary. Check other devices and applications using the connection.
- Audio or video is missing: Check the active OBS scene and source visibility, confirm the media file or input is playing, and verify audio levels and meters before going live. Check the YouTube preview as well as the OBS canvas.
- The stream is interrupted or replaced: Review YouTube’s notice and investigate possible Content ID matches. Confirm that the rights owner has allowlisted your channel where applicable; do not assume that a license automatically prevents an interruption.
- The broadcast has no complete archive: Check its duration. YouTube may not capture a stream longer than 12 hours; use planned shorter sessions and/or a local recording when a complete archive is important.
