To play several prerecorded videos in one scheduled YouTube broadcast with OneStream Live, connect your YouTube channel, open Pre-recorded Stream, add the video files in the desired sequence, choose YouTube, enter the stream details, and schedule the broadcast. OneStream calls this a playlist; its documented playlist feature is available on Professional and Enterprise, not Free.
Before you start
- Connect the YouTube channel you intend to use in OneStream Live.
- Have the prerecorded video files ready. OneStream says you can select them from your device, its OSL Storage library, or cloud storage such as Google Drive or Dropbox.
- Confirm that your plan supports playlists. OneStream’s Help Center lists Professional and Enterprise as eligible; playlist creation and streaming are unavailable on Free. Plan terms can change, so check your account if the feature is not shown.
- Allow time for YouTube channel readiness. Google’s Live Streaming Guide advises enabling Live on the channel at least 24 hours in advance and verifying the account. This is readiness guidance, not a complete statement of every current eligibility rule.
OneStream’s setup uses prerecorded files, so this workflow does not list a camera, microphone, capture card, or hardware encoder as a requirement. For YouTube’s general live-streaming guidance, see Google’s Live Streaming Guide.
Connect your YouTube channel to OneStream Live
- In the OneStream Live dashboard, open Social Platforms.
- Choose Add Platform, or select Connect beside YouTube if it is displayed.
- Select YouTube, choose the account and channel category, and complete the connection flow.
- Return to Social Platforms and confirm that the YouTube account appears there.
If the channel is not listed as a destination later, return to Social Platforms and check that the intended account is connected. OneStream’s YouTube connection instructions are in its YouTube setup guide.
Create a scheduled playlist from multiple video files
- In the dashboard, open Pre-recorded Stream.
- Select Add Videos.
- Choose the files you want from your device, OSL Storage, or a connected cloud source such as Google Drive or Dropbox. Select the desired videos and continue.
- Review the file sequence before proceeding. The selected videos are queued in that order as one broadcast. OneStream documents back-to-back playback, but its instructions do not establish a per-file transition editor or guarantee gapless transitions in every case.
- Choose YouTube as the destination and continue.
- Enter the stream details requested in the dashboard, then schedule the broadcast for the intended time.
- Before the scheduled start, check the event and destination details in OneStream and confirm the stream is scheduled for the correct YouTube channel.
OneStream describes the playlist feature as queuing multiple videos to stream back-to-back as a single live broadcast. The specific dashboard labels can change; if the steps differ, check OneStream’s current Pre-Recorded Streaming Help Center.

Check YouTube readiness and plan the audience handoff
Test before the scheduled broadcast
Google’s Live Streaming Guide recommends privately testing the full setup in YouTube Studio and scheduling the stream. Use a private test to check that the connected channel, destination, and intended stream details behave as expected before relying on the playlist for a public broadcast.
Prepare for viewers before and after the stream
The Google guide also suggests creating an event structure, publishing the archive for on-demand viewing, and creating a playlist for live archives. These are audience-planning suggestions, not required steps in OneStream’s playlist setup. If the videos contain third-party material, confirm you have the rights needed for a live broadcast and any resulting archive; a stream being prerecorded does not remove copyright obligations.

Scheduled playlist or continuous 24/7 stream?
Use a scheduled playlist when you want a particular sequence of prerecorded videos to run as one scheduled broadcast. OneStream’s separate 24-hour Stream feature is for a continuous YouTube stream, rather than the ordinary scheduled playlist flow.
| Option | Best fit | OneStream plan access | Duration detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-recorded playlist | A scheduled program made from multiple video files played in sequence | Professional or Enterprise, according to OneStream’s playlist instructions | Set the broadcast details when scheduling; the cited playlist instructions do not give a fixed maximum duration. |
| 24-hour Stream | A continuous YouTube broadcast | Enterprise, according to OneStream’s 24-hour Stream instructions | OneStream states a maximum duration of 30 days for this feature; this is a OneStream service limit, not a general YouTube limit. |
The 24-hour Stream flow is YouTube-only and accepts content from a device, OSL Storage, or cloud storage. See OneStream’s 24/7 streaming instructions for that separate setup.

Free-plan limits to know
OneStream’s Free-plan limitations page, updated August 24, 2026, lists a 15-minute duration for prerecorded live streams, a maximum resolution of 720p, and 1 GB of uploaded video/media storage. It also says playlists are unavailable on Free. These are OneStream plan limits, not YouTube-wide limits, and plan details may change; verify the terms shown in your account before planning a broadcast. See OneStream’s Getting Started Help Center.
Troubleshooting the playlist setup
- YouTube is missing as a destination: Open Social Platforms and connect the correct YouTube account and channel. Confirm it appears in the connected-platform list before returning to Pre-recorded Stream.
- You cannot find playlist creation or streaming: Check your plan. OneStream documents playlist support on Professional and Enterprise and excludes it from Free.
- A video is not available to add: Check whether it is accessible from the selected source—your device, OSL Storage, or the connected cloud account—and whether the file has finished uploading or syncing before selecting it.
- The videos play in an unexpected order: Review their sequence in the selected list before continuing. OneStream documents playback in sequence; it does not document a separate transition editor in the cited instructions.
- The channel is not ready to go live: Follow YouTube’s account verification and Live enablement guidance, allowing at least 24 hours for Live enablement as advised in Google’s guide. Test privately in YouTube Studio before the scheduled broadcast.
- The Free plan rejects the setup: The listed Free limits include no playlist support, a 15-minute prerecorded live-stream duration, 720p maximum resolution, and 1 GB media storage. Check the current account terms rather than treating those service limits as permanent.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep prerecorded video streaming on YouTube without leaving a computer running at home, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud; it does not stream from a camera or to platforms other than YouTube.
