How to Set Up a Podcast Rerun on YouTube Live with JioFiber

Schedule a YouTube encoder event, configure OBS for your recorded podcast, and test JioFiber upload stability before going live.

You can stream a recorded podcast as a YouTube Live event over JioFiber by scheduling an encoder broadcast in YouTube Studio, sending it from OBS or another encoder, and testing the connection before going public. Use the stream key YouTube provides, choose a bitrate your actual upload connection can sustain, and monitor stream health while it runs. JioFiber plans do not guarantee a particular sustained upload speed, so measure and rehearse on your own line.

Before you set up the stream

Check YouTube Live eligibility

Confirm that live streaming is enabled for your channel in YouTube Studio. YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Its getting-started guidance also sets a minimum age of 16 to live stream. Eligibility and interface details can change, so check the channel in Live Control Room before scheduling.

Clear the podcast and its assets

Make sure you have the rights needed for the episode recording, music, guest audio, clips, artwork, and anything else in the broadcast. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content; it may replace the feed with a placeholder, interrupt or terminate the stream. Licensed material can still cause a match: YouTube says the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Create or schedule the YouTube Live event

  1. Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room.
  2. Create a broadcast or schedule one, then choose the encoder method.
  3. Copy the ingestion server URL and stream key shown for that event into your encoder. Use the details for the specific event rather than assuming an old key or endpoint is appropriate.
  4. Keep the stream key private. Anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your stream; do not show it in screenshots or recordings.

YouTube’s encoder setup is intended for broadcasts using production equipment and overlays. Studio labels and screen layouts can change; follow the current controls displayed for your channel. Where available, choose RTMPS. YouTube recommends it, and its developer documentation describes it as RTMP tunneled through an SSL connection: RTMPS ingestion documentation.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Configure OBS for a podcast rerun

Add the episode and a simple visual

  1. In OBS, add the recorded episode as a Media Source and select the correct file.
  2. Set up a visual such as the episode artwork, optionally with a subtle waveform or timer. A simpler, mostly static scene is generally less demanding than a complex animated one, but performance still depends on your computer and settings.
  3. Set the media source to loop only if you want the episode to repeat. Check its restart behavior and confirm the transition at the end of the file during rehearsal.
  4. Check the audio mixer: the episode should produce a moving meter without clipping. Listen to the preview for silence, distortion, or an incorrect source.

Enter the event details and video settings

In OBS, open Settings > Stream and select YouTube or the applicable custom service option. Enter the event’s server URL and stream key from Live Control Room. In Settings > Output, use streaming output with CBR bitrate control where available. Set a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube says not to exceed four seconds. Choose H.264 bitrate based on your target resolution and frame rate:

Target output YouTube-recommended H.264 bitrate
240p–720p at 30 fps 4 Mbps
720p at 60 fps 6 Mbps
1080p at 30 fps 10 Mbps
1080p at 60 fps 12 Mbps

These are YouTube’s encoder bitrate recommendations, from its guidance accessed in 2026; they are not a measurement or guarantee of JioFiber upload capacity. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions. A podcast with a static image usually has little reason to use 60 fps automatically. Balance resolution and frame rate against upload headroom and the computer’s encoder load. YouTube transcodes incoming streams into viewer formats, so you do not need to create a separate encoder output for each playback quality.

OBS’s system requirements page notes that compatible hardware alone does not guarantee streaming performance: encoder choice, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity all affect CPU demand. Check the requirements for your installed OBS version and test the actual scene on your computer.

Connect OBS through JioFiber and test the full path

Prefer Ethernet when practical

Connect the computer to a LAN port on the Jio Home Gateway with an Ethernet cable if possible. Jio describes wired LAN as faster and more stable than Wi-Fi. This is a sensible stability choice, not a guarantee of any particular upload performance. If Ethernet is not practical, use strong Wi-Fi near the gateway and reduce competing uploads during the broadcast. Jio’s guidance does not establish the speed, congestion, or reliability of an individual subscriber’s connection.

Rehearse before the scheduled event

  1. Run an upload speed test from the streaming computer under conditions similar to the planned broadcast. YouTube recommends testing upload bitrate and testing before going live.
  2. Start an unlisted or private rehearsal where practical, with the same episode, scene, encoder settings, and network connection planned for the event.
  3. Check the preview and audio, then look for dropped frames, encoder overload, buffering, audio clipping or silence, sync drift, and interruptions.
  4. If the stream is unstable, lower the bitrate or resolution and repeat the test. Leave upload headroom for bitrate variation and other network use rather than setting the stream at the full measured upload rate.
  5. During the scheduled broadcast, keep Live Control Room open and watch its stream-health indicators and messages.

A speed test is only a snapshot; the useful decision is whether the complete setup remains stable during a representative rehearsal at the time and location you expect to stream.

How much upload speed do you need?

Use the selected encoder bitrate as the minimum amount of outgoing stream traffic to plan around, then leave additional headroom. For example, YouTube’s recommendation is 6 Mbps for 720p at 60 fps and 10 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps. Those figures describe the encoder output, not a guaranteed JioFiber speed or a promise that a line measuring the same number will be stable. Measure upload performance on the computer, account for other network use, and validate with a rehearsal. Choose lower settings if the line or encoder cannot sustain the target.

Advertised plan speeds cannot establish the upload stability, latency, or congestion at your home during a specific event. If planning extended or frequent reruns, check the current terms for your exact Jio plan and account; the available Jio terms reference a 3300 GB commercial-use policy on Truly Unlimited plans, but does not establish whether that condition applies to every plan or user.

Troubleshoot common stream problems

Symptom Likely cause What to check or change
YouTube receives no signal Wrong event key or server URL, encoder not started, or network interruption Confirm OBS is using the ingestion details for the scheduled event, check the encoder status, and verify connectivity.
Dropped frames or buffering Upload instability, competing traffic, or bitrate too high for the connection Reduce bitrate or resolution, pause other uploads, prefer Ethernet if practical, and rehearse again.
Encoder overload or choppy output Computer load from encoder settings, frame rate, resolution, or scene complexity Simplify the scene and lower frame rate or resolution; retest on the same computer.
Silent or distorted podcast audio Wrong audio source, muted track, clipping, or source routing issue Watch the OBS audio meter, listen to the preview, and check the episode source and mixer routing before restarting.
Episode stops instead of repeating Media Source loop or restart setting is off or not behaving as expected Check the source’s loop setting and observe the end-of-file transition during rehearsal.
Stream interrupted for a content match Third-party music, clips, or other material detected by YouTube Use cleared material; for licensed content, ask the rights holder about adding your channel to its Content ID allowlist.

Or let it run in the cloud
