Set up the goal in the Streamlabs Dashboard, then add it to your live scene as a native Streamlabs Desktop source, the Streamlabs plugin in OBS Studio, or a Browser Source. For separate goals on different platforms, create a widget theme for each and add each theme’s goal URL as its own Browser Source.
Configure the goal in the Streamlabs Dashboard
- Sign in to the Streamlabs Dashboard. In the left navigation, choose All Widgets, then Sub Goal under Goals.
- Under Manage Goal, enter a goal title, target amount, starting amount, and end date. Choose whether to track subscriber count or sub points. Sub points can account for higher-tier subscriptions that count as multiple points.
- Open the Platform dropdown and choose which events count. Streamlabs’ setup guide lists Twitch subscriptions, optional resubs, gifted subscriptions and Prime Subs; YouTube memberships and gifted memberships; Facebook supports and support gifters; and Kick subscribers. Options can vary with available integrations and account settings, so check the dropdown you see.
- Set the layout, colors, font, and bar thickness. Use the live preview to check the design, then save the settings to start the goal.
The preview background is not the on-stream background: Streamlabs says the live widget background is transparent. Custom HTML/CSS is optional; if you use it, those changes override the other appearance settings.
If you plan to add the widget through a Browser Source, copy its URL after saving. Treat that URL as private: anyone with access to it may be able to view the configured widget.
Add the goal to your scene
Streamlabs Desktop: native Subscription Goal source
- Open the Editor and select the plus button in the Sources panel.
- Choose Subscription Goal and add the source.
- In the Goal tab, review or enter the title, target, starting amount, and end date. Select Start Goal.
- Adjust its appearance in Visual Settings. Use the Source tab for advanced settings, then select Done.
If dashboard settings already appear in the source, review them and complete any remaining setup. Menu names may change between software versions.

OBS Studio: Streamlabs Plugin
- Install the Streamlabs Plugin for OBS and log in.
- In OBS, open Streamlabs in the top navigation, choose Sub Goal, then select +Add.
- Drag and resize the widget in your scene. To change widget settings, use Settings to open the dashboard.
Streamlabs documents this plugin route, but its setup guide does not specify plugin version requirements; menus may differ between releases.
OBS Studio or other software: Browser Source
- Save the widget in the Streamlabs Dashboard and copy its URL.
- In your broadcasting software, add a Browser Source and paste the URL.
- Position and resize the source in the scene. If the widget appears with a background, check the source and widget settings; the dashboard preview background itself is not shown on stream.
Streamlabs documents Browser Sources for Streamlabs Desktop and says the URL can be used with compatible broadcasting software such as OBS Studio and XSplit.

Choose one shared goal or separate goals by platform

Streamlabs Desktop’s native Sub Goal source displays the goal for the currently selected widget theme. To show different platform-specific goals at once, use a separate Browser Source for each theme’s goal URL and label the sources by platform so they are easy to identify.
Fix common setup problems
- The goal does not move: Reopen the Platform dropdown and confirm the relevant event type is selected. The available event choices differ by platform.
- The wrong goal appears: Check which widget theme is selected. The native Streamlabs Desktop source follows the currently selected theme; for multiple separate goals, add each theme URL as its own Browser Source.
- The widget URL shows the wrong theme’s goal: Copy the goal URL while the intended theme is selected, then confirm that URL is pasted into the matching Browser Source.
- A background appears in the preview but not on stream: This is expected. The preview background is for preview purposes; the live widget background is transparent.
- Your visual changes do not take effect: Check whether custom HTML/CSS is enabled. Streamlabs says those customizations override other appearance settings.
- You cannot find a documented menu: Labels and plugin menus can change. Confirm the current Streamlabs Dashboard, Desktop, or plugin interface rather than assuming every release uses identical steps.
